42 Dugg fires back at 50 Cent, “Shut Up Talking to Me” over Big Meech allegations
50 Cent has pulled out all of the stops in trolling Big Meech via social media and not sparing anyone associated with the man behind the notorious Black Mafia Family. Enter 42 Dugg, who now finds himself caught in the middle after 50 Cent alleged that he sent Big Meech a $100K sum. Instead of succumbing to the pressure, he has stood his ground to stand up for his hometown and his reputation. The uproar started when 50 Cent shared a direct message conversation that suggested rapper 42 Dugg had financial dealings with Meech.
Dugg, however, refused to back down. He took to Instagram Stories with a vigorous response, “Can’t no n**ga convince me to go at Detroit. Not allowing the allegations to pass without a retort, he added, “Either show me big bra ah rat or shut the f*ck up talk to me.” The rapper was emphatic that the allegations were unfounded, particularly with money given to Meech, which he strongly denied when speaking with The Shade Room. But even after Dugg’s categorical denial, 50 Cent was unprepared to end the story there. Instead, he doubled down, calling Dugg “hard headed” and standing by his claims on social media that they had issues left between them.
Though 50’s feud with Meech dates back years, this latest round of beef exposes Detroit rappers’ extreme loyalty for their cities, even if messy drama is involved. For Dugg, nobody, especially not 50 Cent, will have him turn his back on Detroit. The beef is about representing your people, your city, and what you stand for. In its response, 42 Dugg has shown that no matter how many bricks of pressure you can throw at someone from a heavyweight like 50 Cent, there are just some lines that can’t be breached.

It’s written as a song for a 70s soul club performance, influenced by crossover soul, northern soul, Afro-Cuban soul, and Latin soul. Horns, strings, shuffle guitar, Latin percussion, Hammond organ, and an active drum break surround the song’s central feeling. The arrangement keeps the song feeling lively, but the vintage influence is very clear.
“Side Effects May Include,” has subtle callbacks for those who have been following the project. This connection gives the song a sense of finality. It’s warm, raw, and deliberately human in its subject matter, capturing the odd thrill of love while showing how an old-school soul feeling can still speak naturally to the present.
