Honk Magazine

Now, former NFL star and now media personality Shannon Sharpe is up against serious legal charges after a woman has filed a $50 million lawsuit against him, alleging he raped and beat her. However, Sharpe has denied the allegations, characterizing them as a “shakedown” and promising to contest them in court. Lanny J. Davis, who represents Sharpe, restated that the athlete is fully determined to demonstrate his innocence by saying, “Mr. Sharpe completely denies the allegations of force and misconduct, and especially the outrageous lie that he raped Ms. Grubbs.” He considers this an extortion, and he will not respond to it.” Davis also mentioned that Sharpe is ready to fight the allegations in court, claiming that the facts will come out during the judicial process.

As Sharpe continues to fight the case in court, those close to him have now shared additional information about their relationship with the accuser, per TMZ Sports. The sources allege that the relationship with Sharpe only ever involved sex and was purely sexual on the female’s part, including a series of BDSM encounters. The insiders claim that the two had sexual interactions “close to 100 times” from late 2022 through January 2025 in locations including Los Angeles and Nevada. The circumstances around their relations may look suspicious, but the sources stress that there was no hint of any kind of pressure or violence, which would have led to the conclusion that it was a consensual relationship. Sharpe’s camp believes the suit takes these events out of context and is spun and rewritten to bolster the accuser’s argument.
