Premiere: i.am.orange Releases Latest Hypnotic Alt-Indie Single “Cool As Me”

Alt-Indie singer-songwriter Spencer Kumdis, better known as i.am.orange, releases his latest project, a mysteriously beautiful song titled “Cool As Me.” The eclectic artist talks about a relationship that seems to have ended, and the feelings of loneliness that he is going through in this post-break up phase. I.am.orange is all but your usual artist. He has channeled his imagination into creating a fictional character that fully embodies his originality, i.am.orange, described as follows:

“He was born with no face and orange skin in the dead cold of 1998’s winter. His mother wanted to peel him like an orange, and everything in Spencer’s life has led up until this very moment. He likes to scream loudly, fantasizes about a day where nobody has a face and everyone has orange skin. Sometimes, Spencer will bang his head against the wall REALLY HARD.

Spencer REFUSES to drink water, even in the shower, and he has never eaten anything larger than the size of his fist (watermelons, carrots, sponge cake, etc) Spencer was born with glass orange bones and orange paper skin. Every morning, he breaks his legs, and every afternoon, he breaks my arms. At night, he lies awake in agony until his heart attacks put him to sleep. Spencer LOVES PRINCE, and has never left his 20 acre yard/house. Never once.”

Despite his eccentric character, i.am.orange’s highly perfected musicianship and sense of poetry are powerfully present on “Cool As Me,” distilling some of the most interesting sonic energies we have heard in a long while. This might very well explain why his impressive following is so loyal and growing by the day in terms of numbers of listeners, with a million monthly listeners on Spotify alone.

Leyla Romanova finds strength in silence on new release “Self-Control”

Leyla Romanova

Leyla Romanova‘s new single, “Self-Control,” is a powerful emotional release that feels more like a manifesto for surviving modern chaos than a song. In a world of opinions, urgency, and emotional exhaustion, Romanova offers a track based on one radical idea: not reacting.

“Self-Control” immediately creates tension and clarity. The drums keep everything together with discipline and purpose. As the textured instrumentals expand like waves of thought through a crowded mind, the bass anchors the listener emotionally.

The contrast between outside noise and inside stillness makes the song compelling. Romanova’s work captures the feeling of being overwhelmed by pressure, opinions, and distractions while silently retaining personal peace. There are no major uprisings. But restraint is power. The song knows energy conservation is a survival strategy.

J’mall expresses the pain of chasing someone else’s success over your own on “Unattainable”

J'mall

J’mall’s latest single, “Unattainable,” expresses the pain of chasing someone else’s success over your own. The song explores the emotional void caused by constant comparison rather than motivation.

“Unattainable” is about realizing that no matter how hard one works to meet others’ expectations, the reward will never be satisfying. J’mall explores the stress of “keeping up with the Joneses” and the exhaustion of comparing yourself to standards that weren’t meant for you.

The song’s honesty resonates, the message doesn’t feel preachy or polished. It feels personal, like J’mall is sharing life lessons. The record’s quiet strength is its embrace of individuality and personal responsibility without pretending it’s easy.
