Nihar unveils the pursuit of love, money and self-worth on latest release “Bankroll”
Nihar‘s latest release, “Bankroll” explores two equally confusing quests: money and love. The song doesn’t make either chase appear simple, rather, it acknowledges the ambiguity, instinct, and intuition involved in looking for something meaningful. It’s about the romance side, the longing for someone not yet known. It captures the blend of doubt and hope that can accompany the early days of falling for someone.
The song is built around the reminder “I got a bankroll I gotta get back to,” a hook that makes it more significant than the title might suggest at first. It’s a personal reminder to protect your time and energy for the people and things that give back to you. There’s an emotional element to it, beneath the record’s obsession with money, that makes the notion of chasing success feel linked to the pursuit of meaningful connection.
The cool shakers give the track a very different rhythmic character, and the writing is very much focused on desire and attraction. “Got a bank roll I gotta get back to, brown skin pretty with em tattoos” adds another personal image to the romantic side of the song. “Bankroll” succeeds in the contrasts: the desire to get ahead juxtaposed with the search for someone worth returning to. In Nihar, both pursuits become one complex journey.

DOBENHAUSEN chases the night while the rhythm stays alive on latest release “Forever Young Tonight”
DOBENHAUSEN‘s latest release, “Forever Young Tonight” is a song about feeling, movement, and a strong melodic identity, mixed into emotional Pop/R&B and modern electronic production. The song has a nocturnal energy, as the lyrics suggest, and balances romantic emotion with wanting to be in the moment and not overthink what comes next. The song opens with a tone of certainty and commitment: “We don’t need no second chance.”
Especially when the track takes a turn to its rhythmic side, ‘feel the rhythm feel the flame’ captures the physical energy that is key to the record, and ‘the city sleeps but we’re alive’ paints a vivid image of two people choosing to remain lost in their own moment while the world around them fades away. The youthful urgency of the writing doesn’t need to overcomplicate the message.
“Forever Young Tonight” is characterized by the clash of its emotional Pop/R&B core with its modern electronic production. A good reflection of the song’s outlook is “Don’t watch the clock just feel the beat,” forget the passing hours, give yourself to the now. DOBENHAUSEN lays a melodic foundation for the track, keeping the production fresh and energetic, building a song that feels made for connection, movement, and the freedom of just being there tonight.
