Dark Pop Singer-Songwriter stef Releases a New Single “Funeral”

“Funeral” Track Info:

Artist – stef
Titled – Funeral
Released Date – Feb 18, 2022

Dark pop singer-songwriter and Nashville native, stef, released her lamentable new single “Funeral” early morning the Friday of February 18th, just days after the world’s most controversial holiday – Valentine’s Day. Whether listeners had a valentine or not, the holiday awakens something in everyone that causes one to reminisce on current or past relationships. For the latter, stef’s song articulates the question we have all consciously or subconsciously asked ourselves before: “If I died, would that person still come to my Funeral?”. The calamitous concept is soul-wrenching and can melt even the iciest of hearts.

Over the past year, stef has taken fans on an emotional, tumultuous journey following the release of her debut album, “A Glitch in Our Virtual Reality” in 2021. Including her break-out hit single “hi, my name is lonely” continuing to amass millions of streams online, the album also contains what was once arguably stef’s most vulnerable song “i used to build dreams about you”. The song was stef’s insightful story surrounding the hopes and dreams she previously held for the year-long relationship she was in at the time. Since then, the aforementioned newly released single “Funeral” takes listeners even deeper down stef’s prolific cave of sentiments – creating a space for the ebbs and flows of the angry, grieving, and broken-hearted to ultimately find solace, and know that they are no longer alone in their feelings.

“Empatia” by Aurien & Jab Vix set the tone for an atmospheric new era

Aurien

“Empatia, the stunning electronic debut of Aurien, in collaboration with Jab Vix, is the start of a new creative universe under Aurien’s newly launched imprint Château Bonheur Musique. The track feels like a doorway into a curated emotional space, built from atmosphere, storytelling, and immersive sound design.

“Empatia” is founded upon a contemporary electronic aesthetics that favors texture. The production is sleek and considered, offering up soft rhythmic pulses within roomy layers that breathe. Working with Jab Vix gives texture and dynamics to Aurien’s perspective and sets the sound for the song. It’s more about feeling the music than looking for peaks of high energy. It builds slowly and invites you to sit in the mood.

A highlight is the “Elegant Mix,” which takes the original and gives it a more subdued, slicker makeover. It allows the heart of the composition to come through more intimately, and this duality reinforces the idea behind Château Bonheur Musique as environment, experience, and feeling. “Empatia” is a debut statement and manifesto for the immersive, emotionally intelligent electronic music that works as effortlessly as it does in shared spaces. It’s a thoughtful direction for Aurien, where sound is not just heard, but lived in.
