THE DUO ‘ENTRÉE LIBRE’ RELEASES “CORPS À CORPS”, A PROMISING SINGLE FROM THEIR INCOMING EP
Entrée Libre is a Parisian duo born in 2019, built on the friendship between two childhood friends, Emmanuel Jarrige and Ludovic Bailly. From their first covers of Paul McCartney to the lockdown spent together in Burgundy, Emmanuel and Ludovic have never left each other. In March 2020, they decided to record the music they love, far from the pressure of Paris, in the middle of the vineyards. The lyrics, in French, are tinged by this strange time of the pandemic, between personal experiences and fiction. One can detect influences of Flavien Berger’s perched elegance, Mac DeMarco’s genial resourcefulness, or LCD Soundsystem’s energetic contrasts. After “L’air du temps” and “Dehors”, they released the single “Aller Simple” in October 2021. A disco-retro trip between Blondie, La Femme, and Parcels. The crazy video clip depicts a summer with the duo, between beach planes and outlet parties, after a winter spent in a closing world.
A few days before the release of their first EP “Avant- Première”, the duo Entrée Libre unveils the single “Corps à corps”: so-British rock energy, combined with a global good mood worthy of Marc Rebillet, which gives an irresistible desire to move. The funk and electro influence hovers not far from the sharp guitar riffs, the groovy bass lines, and the lyrics narrating the movements of bodies approaching and then repelling each other. The single has a rather precise goal: to make people dance like a “corps à corps désaccordé”.

Martin Lloyd Howard channels nature in acoustic track “Rapids”
Martin Lloyd Howard’s recent single, “Rapids,” is a masterclass in acoustic storytelling that blends technicality with atmosphere. Originally a left-hand dexterity exercise, it devolves into full-bodied guitar playing that suggests the flow of water up and down a river, from foamy rapids to quiet pools, just as nature itself moves.
Howard’s classical training is evidenced by the precision of his fingerwork, and his interest in folk, blues, and rock brings a warm, natural depth to the performance. His guitar solo arrangement also illustrates how he can convey emotion without lyrics. He employs variations in tempo and phrasing to suggest the erratic dynamics of rushing water, only then allowing the melody to relax into quieter, more meditative spaces.
The music is dynamic and soothing at the same time, making you feel like you are on an adventure and thinking things through. “Rapids” stands as evidence of Martin Lloyd Howard’s versatility and imagination. It’s good for those who enjoy acoustic guitar playing or music that falls between raw virtuosity and emotional resonance. It’s an opportunity to focus, slow down, and find your way into the river of sound he has lovingly crafted.
