The song tells the story of that struggle, “Fought so hard but couldn’t break the chain. Then, the song reaches an even more open place, with someone “tired, warn down, dropped to the floor,” asking how long this way of living can go on. The experience does not hide the frustration or the tiredness.

Then the song’s signature decision, “I’m done drinkin’, I’m done druggin’ away the pain. That line is what makes “Done Druggin’ Away the Pain” feel like a turning point. Lisa Jo’s song is about coming to the place where the status quo is no longer an option. Terry Borderline‘s latest release, “Glitch,” is a thick G-House track built around Gasoline Monk, with forceful hip hop vocals and a punishing tech house bassline. It’s supposed to be dark and completely sample free. The production lends the track a straight-forward approach, marrying its hip-hop presence with its electronic weight. At its heart it asks a simple question, what happens when the systems around us start to fall apart.

The song pushes the concept of a glitch beyond a single piece of technology. It’s like, “What if the whole system just glitch?” then it takes that into the day-to-day of technology, with questions about an iPhone and if whole systems can fail. You don’t have to think too much about the message, that tension is what the song is built around.

“Glitch” is a bass-driven club banger with hard hitting vocals and a mash up of G-House and tech-house sounds. This is a dark electronic space, powered by the free sample production of Terry Borderline & Gasoline Monk. “It’s a song about pressure, disruption and the uncomfortable idea that all the systems we rely on may not always work as they should.
