Kevin Hunter’s $250M Lawsuit Alleges Wendy Williams’ Guardianship Is Punishment

In a surprising and heartfelt move, Kevin Hunter, the former husband of famous talk show host Wendy Williams, has launched a huge $250 million lawsuit aimed at freeing her from what he describes as a harmful and unfair guardianship. This legal action filed recently, sheds light on a difficult time in Wendy’s life that hasn’t been widely known until now. Kevin and Wendy were married for 21 years, from 1999 to 2020, and although they have since separated, he feels he can’t stand by while Wendy’s independence is, as he puts it, “used against her.”

In the lawsuit, Kevin argues that the guardianship over Wendy’s life serves no beneficial purpose, he sees it as a form of punishment. He paints a concerning picture of Wendy’s current situation, claiming she is living in an assisted living facility with very limited access to her phone and little contact with friends and family. One shocking aspect of the lawsuit is the claim that despite Wendy’s well-documented health issues, which include thyroid problems, dementia, and difficulties with speech, she has still been considered mentally capable. An evaluation in March 2025 reportedly found her alert and able to manage her finances.

However, she remains under guardianship, raising big questions about the motivations of those who are supposed to care for her. The lawsuit doesn’t just challenge the guardianship itself. It also takes aim at Wells Fargo and Wendy’s guardian, Sabrina Morrissey, accusing them of mishandling Wendy’s money and failing to meet her basic financial needs, even though they have complete control over her estate.

Kevin believes that Wendy agreed to this guardianship during a tough time when she was emotionally and financially overwhelmed, suggesting that she might not have fully grasped what it meant for her rights and independence. While it’s uncertain how this lawsuit will turn out, Kevin Hunter is stepping up not just to protect his ex-wife but to question a system that he believes has taken away her freedom, dignity, and financial well-being.

OTF Dede and David Lindsey are fighting their recent stalking convictions as the legal process in Lil Durk’s case continues to play out.

Lil Durk was facing five charges, two of them murder-for-hire related and three of them stalking related, while the two co-defendants were convicted on three counts of stalking in the same case. Durk was just cleared of all charges in that case a couple of weeks ago, but Dede and Lindsey didn’t get the same result.

The latest legal twist adds another chapter to a case that has remained tightly connected to Lil Durk’s ongoing legal troubles. Durk was acquitted in the initial murder-for-hire case, but his larger legal battle is far from over.

For Dede and Lindsey, the immediate issue is their stalking convictions and whether the court will grant either of the new requests filed. The couple’s pleas carry long prison sentences, and the pending motions are especially important for their attorneys.
The court has not ruled on the Rule 29 and Rule 33 motions, leaving the next phase of litigation uncertain.

Lil Durk, meanwhile, is set to appear in court on November 4 for a bond hearing. His trial in the VICAR case was scheduled for the next few weeks, but it is likely to be delayed.

Separate legal proceedings are now moving forward in the cases of Durk, Dede, and Lindsey, who remain active. Dede and Lindsey’s latest filings ensure that the group’s legal saga continues even after Durk’s acquittal in the original case.
