AMERICAN RAPPER TREY DAY IS MORE THAN A VIRAL SENSATION

My main focus though is making my life stories come to life. Give the world my stories through music to let everyone know they are not alone. Whether it’s heartbreak, love, death, partying or smoking you’re not alone. Everyone goes through hard aches and good times, it’s called Life.

Hello Trey Day, Thanks for coming to Honk Magazine to talk about your career.

Tell us a little more about when you first got into music?

Trey Day : That’s a funny story, I didn’t even wanna be a rapper/artist. I was going to college at Columbia in Chicago  as a photographer until I met a life long friend Dennis Caravello. He told me I should try making music, just on the fact that I wrote a lot of poetry in my phone and in books. He took me to the studio and at the time he was recording he told me just jump in and next thing you know I love it. Changed my whole Maher to music business and Audio production,Once u start it’s like u cants stop

If you could describe your sound/style in one word, what would it be and why?

Trey Day: I would say RAGE. I say this because my music is sad boy. I talk about my life, what’s going on in it and what I’m actually doing between heartbreaks, party, love, traveling, the hood aspects of my life and friends. Just got a lot of pain behind me so that influences the rap singing combo.

What would you say to any aspiring recording artists who look up to your work?

Trey Day: That’s what’s up, send me some music and let’s work. I believe in helping other artists but it’s also a business but if they go hard I got up, let’s work.

Trey Day: stack your bread to at least 10 racks to get all ur shit in order llc for your brand and you for promotion by ur self a laptop to keep all ur shit in order, and mass use for recording and promotion and go in on one song at a time instead of just throwing a whole project out with no plan. Deff gotta have a plan. And most def release a music video with the single and drop it on the same day as u you do all platforms.
