Darryl Scotti & Big Yard Deliver Heartfelt Americana-Pop Ballad with “Coming Home”

Darryl Scotti and Big Yard

Darryl Scotti and Big Yard are back with “Coming Home,” an Americana-pop ballad that feels like it could have been written at any time in the past century, so timeless is its sentiment. Co-written with Larry Antonino and Joey Gutos, and accompanied by a drive from Sergio Gonzales of Pablo Cruise on drums, it’s a moving tale of love, memory, and reconciliation between father and son as he gets older.

Running at 78 BPM, the tune gradually grows warm with bewitching patience as delicate and rich-strumming instrumentation embraces impassioned vocals. There’s an honesty to its pacing, as if the music itself recognizes the heaviness of contemplating family dynamics, time, and human connection so brittle it can be shattered in just nine minutes.

The songwriting is intimate but universal, combining images of homecoming with themes of forgiveness and emotional repair. It doesn’t pull any punches about how complicated family can be, instead meeting it with compassion and honesty. There is a vulnerability and yet a strength, as it sounds both polished and organic in production.

What makes “Coming Home” unique is that it has a multigenerational appeal. Listeners might hear their own father, their child, or themselves in its lyrics, as ‘everybody gets high’ goes one verse; so too may the path to reconciliation. It’s a reminder that love, even when not ideal, is always there, and “coming home” means as much as an arrival at a place of rest as with the realization that one has made peace with the people you love.

“Empatia” by Aurien & Jab Vix set the tone for an atmospheric new era

Aurien

“Empatia, the stunning electronic debut of Aurien, in collaboration with Jab Vix, is the start of a new creative universe under Aurien’s newly launched imprint Château Bonheur Musique. The track feels like a doorway into a curated emotional space, built from atmosphere, storytelling, and immersive sound design.

“Empatia” is founded upon a contemporary electronic aesthetics that favors texture. The production is sleek and considered, offering up soft rhythmic pulses within roomy layers that breathe. Working with Jab Vix gives texture and dynamics to Aurien’s perspective and sets the sound for the song. It’s more about feeling the music than looking for peaks of high energy. It builds slowly and invites you to sit in the mood.

A highlight is the “Elegant Mix,” which takes the original and gives it a more subdued, slicker makeover. It allows the heart of the composition to come through more intimately, and this duality reinforces the idea behind Château Bonheur Musique as environment, experience, and feeling. “Empatia” is a debut statement and manifesto for the immersive, emotionally intelligent electronic music that works as effortlessly as it does in shared spaces. It’s a thoughtful direction for Aurien, where sound is not just heard, but lived in.
