His positive diagnosis comes months after his Saturday Night Live hosting where he discussed the ongoing pandemic.

“Do you guys remember what life was like before Covid?” Mr. Chappelle said. “I do. There was a mass shooting every week. Anyone remember that? Thank God for Covid. Someone had to lock these murderous whites up and keep them in the house.”

Rihanna Surprises GloRilla With FaceTime Call During Fenty Shoot

Honk Magazine

In another instance that broke the internet and supported the awesome power of sisterhood in music and beauty, Rihanna face timed rap royalty GloRilla during her Fenty shoot. Big Glo was showing off that signature bold energy for Savage X Fenty when her phone started blowing up with a name that would make any fan drop everything: Rihanna. The head of the Fenty empire rang in herself, and the vibe was a chef’s kiss. The exchange captured by Hollywood Unlocked was funny, sweet, and grounded in real love. First, praise each other’s work like fangirls.

Rihanna declared she couldn’t stop gushing about such a stunning look from Glo, and GloRilla showed that love right back because when two queens collide, you can bet your padded derrière those compliments soar just as high as the heels. Like a true boss, she added, “If Glo is not having fun for any moment of that shoot, you just let me know and some heads are going to roll.” “I’m going to fire them myself,” Rihanna joked, again reminding us that she has her artists’ backs and she’s not afraid to take the reins but with a sense of humor. Their collective laugh at GloRilla’s Memphis accent, notably her pronunciation of “beauty,” which came out more like “beurty.”

Rihanna’s laughter at the time captured the authentic chemistry you can’t fake. Though the moment was brief, it provided a rare peek behind the scenes at what could be a powerhouse team-up in the making, particularly with Rihanna rumored to be on the lookout for a Savage X Fenty theme song. If true, we can’t imagine anything working better than GloRilla. She’s got the raw energy, the over the top confidence, the fearlessness that epitomizes the H&M approach to style. In a world that feels overproduced in every way, authentic moments like these remind us why we root for Rihanna and GloRilla in the first place.

Coco Jones Shines Bright On R&B Season’s Latest Playlist Update With Soulful Debut

Honk Magazine

The R&B Season playlist is here yet again with another soul-soaked update, and this time, it comes with a big look for upcoming Coco Jones. “Why Not More?” has arrived for good, and it’s making a dramatic entrance. At only 14 songs, “Why Not More?” is anything but small. It’s a bold, genre-warping testament to Jones’ vocal elasticity and emotional puddles, each song serving up a unique slice of the modern soul pie. Over silky, sexy grooves or spikier, more spirited bangers, Coco sings like someone who’s here to stay.

“I wanted to see what sticks and what lands what really changes my life,” Coco said of the album. That raw ambition courses through the album. It’s exploratory but not aimless. From thoughtful slow jams to sensual, radio-ready hits, Jones sounds like she’s already figured out what works for her and isn’t afraid to push the boundaries. Not for “On Sight” if you’re trying to get started. It’s playful and magnetic and captures just the right amount of latent charisma Coco Jones brings to the mic. It’s also one of the more pumped-up tracks on the album, so it gives you a sense of her skill in the diplomacy of designer pop’s decorousness and real vocal chops. When that one catches, the rest of the album makes for a ride worth taking.

While Coco takes center stage this week, R&B Season also reserves space for another new drop, Roy Woods’ Dark Nights. It’s a moody, late-night counterpoint to Jones’ sophisticated revolution of R&B, nine slow-burning tracks that sound intimate and cloudy. Woods is committed to the atmosphere, with his high-pitched tones and dreamy flows creating an immersive, sometimes other-worldly listening experience. Yet the heart of this playlist update is the one and only Coco Jones. With “Why Not More?,” she asks the question and answers it. And by the sound of it, judging by this debut, there’s far more greatness yet to come.
