DJ Akademiks Praises Police After Terrifying On-Stream Ordeal
In a turn of events that went from frantic to calm in just a few minutes, DJ Akademiks faced a frightening situation on Thursday night when a serious incident known as swatting disrupted his livestream. What started as a typical night of entertainment for his viewers quickly escalated when the police arrived at his home in full force. For those who might not know, swatting is when someone falsely reports a dangerous situation to make the police send a SWAT team to a person’s house.
This is a serious crime that can have grave consequences. Viewers were astonished as Akademiks, who is well-known for his commentary on hip-hop culture, shared footage after the incident where he calmly followed the police orders with his hands up and walking backward. Despite the fear of the situation, he remained composed and understood that the officers were simply doing their jobs in a potentially dangerous scenario. Fortunately, the police quickly realized it was a false alarm. Akademiks was released without any charges, but it served as a harsh reminder of the risks that come with live streaming and being in the public eye.
What was particularly impressive was Akademiks’ reaction afterward. Instead of expressing anger or frustration, he publicly thanked his local police department for their handling of the situation. This display of gratitude highlighted a moment of understanding, showing that even in tense situations, respect can exist between the police and the public.
Swatting is a real danger for online personalities, with other well-known figures like iShowSpeed and Adin Ross experiencing similar incidents. However, it’s often the lesser-known victims, and sometimes their pets, who suffer the most when these pranks become too extreme. Akademiks’ experience ended without harm, but it sent a clear message that swatting is no laughing matter. It’s a serious crime that can affect anyone, no matter how famous they are.

Snoop Dogg Wants To Pay Someone $10,000 A Month To Eat Ice Cream
Snoop Dogg has had a lot of job titles over the years, but “official ice cream taster” wasn’t one of them until now — and he’s hiring someone else to fill it. His company Dr. Bombay just opened applications for the role, and it pays $10,000 a month.
The gig is fully remote and open to anyone on the planet, which Snoop announced himself in a video that’s exactly as laid-back as you’d expect. “I love the paper, but not the paperwork,” he said, explaining that HR firm Deel is handling the logistics while he handles, presumably, the ice cream.
The actual job is less “sit around and eat pints all day” and more part-time cultural scout. Whoever gets it will track flavor and food trends around the world, report back on what people are eating and talking about, and work directly with Dr. Bombay’s in-house flavor lead to help shape what the brand does next. It’s a three-month contractor role, and Snoop’s team says they’re actively looking outside the usual resume pile — creators and non-traditional applicants welcome.
Dr. Bombay itself leans nostalgic, with flavors like Long Beach Fruit Cart, Sticky Caramel Apple Pie, and Peanut Butter Jelly Time already sitting on shelves at Walmart and moving through DoorDash and Instacart. Somewhere out there is one very lucky applicant about to get paid five figures a month to have opinions about ice cream, and honestly, good for them.
