Flo Milli And Yung Baby Tate Rep For The New Class Of Rapping Ladies On ‘I Am’

The two rappers declare they are healthy, wealthy, rich, that b*tch, and more on the boastful ‘After The Rain’ track. …

This year saw the rise of many female rappers in the music world. Listeners were introduced to names like Flo Milli, Sukihana, and Mulatto, while they witness more familiar acts — Megan Thee Stallion, Blimes And Gab, and others — boost their stock and solidify their position in the game. Looking to insert her name into the conversation before the year ends, Yung Baby Tate arrives with her third project in as many years thanks to After The Rain, which comes with an enthusiastic collaboration with Flo Milli.

Standing tall in their respective positions in the rap game, Yung Baby Tate and Flo Milli flex some muscle on their first-ever collab, “I Am.” The track is a bouncy effort that finds them both in an extremely boastful state. “I am healthy, I am wealthy / I am rich, I am that b*tch,” they rap on the song’s hook, adding “I am gonna get that bag and I’m not gonna take your sh*t.” After hearing both verses from the young rappers, it’s clear that it’ll take more than a few insults to stifle their confidence.

Yung Baby Tate’s After The Rain is a seven-track effort that she’s released through Issa Rae’s Raedio label with guest an additional guest appearance from 6lack. As for Flo Milli, if you’re interested in more from the Alabama rapper, revisit her Ho, Why Is You Here? debut which Uproxx ranked at the sixteenth-best album of the year and the seventh-best hip-hop album of the year.

You can listen to “I Am” above.

After The Rain is out now via Raedio. Get it here.

Charlamagne Tha God Mocks Drake as UMG Moves to Dismiss His Lawsuit

HonkMagazine

Charlamagne Tha God, known for his straightforward and often blunt opinions, has taken a shot at Drake following a legal dispute with Universal Music Group (UMG). The popular radio host criticized Drake after UMG tried to push back against a lawsuit Drake filed against them. Charlamagne called Drake a “sore loser,” suggesting that the rapper’s decision to go to court was more about not getting what he wanted than a fight against the music industry. In his comments, Charlamagne argued that the legal arguments made by UMG were in line with his own views.

He expressed frustration with fans and commentators who are portraying Drake’s lawsuit as a bold stand against the music business. “It’s funny how people want to make Drake out to be a revolutionary,” he said, highlighting how dramatic some discussions around the issue have been. He mocked those who claimed that Drake was in serious danger from UMG, calling them overly dramatic. Charlamagne pointed out that Drake is still extremely successful, selling records, getting played on the radio, and continuing to make music just like he always has.

He emphasized that this legal battle is not about fighting against unfair treatment in the industry, rather, he believes it’s simply about Drake being unhappy with his situation. This isn’t Charlamagne’s first criticism of Drake, and it likely won’t be the last. Their back and forth has been ongoing for years, with Charlamagne often questioning Drake’s choices and moves in the music world. With UMG now working to dismiss the lawsuit, Charlamagne feels even more justified in his views. Regardless of whether you support Drake or Charlamagne, it’s clear that their paths will continue to cross in public discussions about the music industry.

Diddy’s Legal Battle Intensifies as Prosecutors Reveal Alleged Victims’ Names to Defense Team

HonkMagazine

Sean “Diddy” Combs is a well-known figure in hip-hop, but he’s currently facing a serious situation that could affect his business and reputation. As he battles legal issues, his lawyers recently won an important court decision that could influence his defense strategy. Earlier this month, they asked the court for the names of three anonymous people making accusations against him in a large legal case. The judge agreed and ordered federal prosecutors to share these names with Diddy’s legal team by March 10. Reports say that the names will be shared with strict confidentiality, meaning that while Diddy’s lawyers can see them, they won’t be disclosed to the public.

Although the prosecution hasn’t officially revealed who these accusers are, there’s a lot of speculation. Many believe one of the accusers is Cassie, Diddy’s long term ex-girlfriend, who previously sued him before settling the matter outside of court. His legal team thinks the other two accusers might also be his former partners. For Diddy, this court ruling is a small victory in his ongoing legal fight. His attorneys argue that knowing the identities of the accusers is crucial for them to prepare a strong defense before the trial. While having this information may help his team, it also heightens the stakes for what lies ahead.

The accusations against him loom large, potentially impacting his legacy in the music industry. As the case progresses, many hip-hop people are paying close attention, speculating how the outcome might affect Diddy’s career. It’s clear that this situation is far from over. With the trial approaching, both sides are preparing for what could be a dramatic courtroom showdown. Whether Diddy will be able to clear his name or face serious consequences remains uncertain, but for now, he is committed to fighting the charges against him.
