HaydenGoSeek announces new single “Never Forget”
Following a deeply creative period in lockdown, Cheap Fakes frontman Hayden Andrews is emerging with the new release from his exquisite solo project HaydenGoSeek on 13th May.
Never Forget has an upbeat coastal feel with the prominent sun-soaked reggae Hayden is revered for. His smooth as silk vocals glide playfully over the jovial acoustic accompaniment, with lyrics that reflect his masterful storytelling ability.
Sweetly sad and deeply moving, the most touching aspect of the song is the story that inspired it. Hayden’s good friend ‘Batchy’ was diagnosed with terminal cancer in 2021 and advised that he had only 6 months to live.
Batchy decided to host a living wake for himself. He founded a weekend to remember at a beautiful resort in Port Douglas with 43 of his best mates, including Hayden. He treated everyone to an incredible array of delicious food and unlimited alcohol for 3 glorious days.
It was an unforgettable weekend that paid a fitting tribute to his life. Each guest received a stubby cooler printed with Batchy’s mantra for living:
‘Live each day to the most, dance like no one is watching, hold your loved ones close, and never be afraid to speak your mind. Batchy loves you.’
After the weekend, Batchy asked Hayden to write a song about the weekend, and Never Forget was born. Recorded with Scotty French at Love St Studios, it’s instilled with the painful nostalgia of losing a friend yet laced with hope and encouragement to live a life of meaning.
One of the most exciting and widely loved frontmen in Australian roots music, Hayden is a genre-hopping, multi-instrumentalist with a string of highly praised releases, international tours, and festival shows under his belt.
HaydenGoSeek is an intriguing blend of sun-soaked pop and deep Americana sounds blended with the signature reggae flavors that he is renowned for.

“Pretty Ugly,” the inaugural single by Archer Stevens, represents a compelling homage to the golden age of 70s rock music with a fresh coat of modern vibrancy. From the outset, the track masterfully exudes an irresistible energy that embodies vintage and contemporary influences, acting as a sonic bridge between eras. The Phoenix-based ensemble skillfully weaves their influences into a pronounced, personal narrative.
A noteworthy aspect of the track is its instrumentation. Recorded across three diverse locations, Phoenix, Los Angeles, and even Peru, the song has a global resonance. The incorporation of congas introduces a surprising layer of depth and rhythm, giving “Pretty Ugly” a distinct flair that separates it from cookie-cutter rock releases. This thoughtful musical choice enhances the song’s groove, complementing the shimmering guitar lines and soulful vocal delivery.
