Larry Hoover Jr. Thanks Kanye West After Presidential Commutation
Larry Hoover was granted a reduced sentence by a former president, Donald Trump, and it came as bittersweet news on an already complicated day for his family. This huge and dramatic development is a reason to hope, but it wasn’t enough to secure Hoover’s release as he continues to serve the 200-year state sentence that has not been touched by presidential mercy. For Larry Hoover Jr., it’s a small step that feels like a giant leap in a long, emotional battle. But in the middle of it all, he is making a point to thank the massive support system that stood by his family’s side and amplified their cause, and Kanye West’s name stands out to him in a particularly glaring way.
In an interview with TMZ, Hoover Jr. bluntly mused about the vital role Kanye had in shining a spotlight on his father’s case. “He had a very large role because he initiated the whole thing,” Hoover Jr. said. “Put us on the platform. He ushered us through his power to the White House and didn’t have to do that. He stuck his neck out there. “We know he don’t have a problem with being out there sticking his neck out for what he believes in,” and I’m glad he believed in this.” In fact, Kanye West’s public support and high-profile visit to Trump gave the family an unexpected but powerful assist.
It was an act that called for more than influence but courage, a willingness to use his voice and put his star power behind a cause on which many in the public eye might have been reluctant to speak. Hoover Jr. expressed similar sentiments on Instagram, giving special thanks to Alice Johnson, the Trump administration’s so-called “Pardon Czar,” whose own experiences in the world of clemency likely granted her special insight and empathy in addressing Hoover’s case. Her participation contributed one more support in this multi-leveled drive for justice.
While Larry Hoover Sr. continues to serve time, this federal commutation is a significant milestone. For his family, and for Hoover Jr. in particular, it’s yet another indication that perseverance, togetherness, and the advocacy of dedicated allies can move the needle toward getting Larry Hoover home. As the battle wages on, the version of Hoover Jr.’s simple message at the end is gratitude today, hope for tomorrow, and eternal thanks to those who were brazen enough to believe the change was possible.

Snoop Dogg Wants To Pay Someone $10,000 A Month To Eat Ice Cream
Snoop Dogg has had a lot of job titles over the years, but “official ice cream taster” wasn’t one of them until now — and he’s hiring someone else to fill it. His company Dr. Bombay just opened applications for the role, and it pays $10,000 a month.
The gig is fully remote and open to anyone on the planet, which Snoop announced himself in a video that’s exactly as laid-back as you’d expect. “I love the paper, but not the paperwork,” he said, explaining that HR firm Deel is handling the logistics while he handles, presumably, the ice cream.
The actual job is less “sit around and eat pints all day” and more part-time cultural scout. Whoever gets it will track flavor and food trends around the world, report back on what people are eating and talking about, and work directly with Dr. Bombay’s in-house flavor lead to help shape what the brand does next. It’s a three-month contractor role, and Snoop’s team says they’re actively looking outside the usual resume pile — creators and non-traditional applicants welcome.
Dr. Bombay itself leans nostalgic, with flavors like Long Beach Fruit Cart, Sticky Caramel Apple Pie, and Peanut Butter Jelly Time already sitting on shelves at Walmart and moving through DoorDash and Instacart. Somewhere out there is one very lucky applicant about to get paid five figures a month to have opinions about ice cream, and honestly, good for them.
