London-based Singer-Songwriter Amy Steele presents a new single “Smoke Castles”
Amy Steele is a London-based Singer-Songwriter, with sultry vocals and a distinctive tone. Her music is what you get when you mix Kate Bush and Sade, alternative tapestries of soul. For the last five years, she has pursued music in tandem with studying for a degree in medicine. Having recently completed her degree, now being Dr. Steele, she has fully set her sights on her music.
For the past year, she has been in the studio working with Alex Wells, Draper, Joel Compass, Babel, and various international producers to create a record that reflects her artistry and who she is musically.
Last year, Amy shared a series of covers she had been working on, of records that moved her, and which she felt held important messages for the times we’ve lived through. Amy chose to record ‘Slow Up’ which was a track to remind us to stay positive and not to let the perception of the world change us or harden us. We’ve had a difficult year of social injustice and seen the way the world can corrupt innocence, but ‘Slow Up’ was a reminder to stay strong and true to who we are. In October Amy returned with ’44 22” a track that serves as a metaphor for when people only live up to half of what they promised to be, with 22 only going halfway to 44. Amy said ‘it’s a song about people who can’t be more than they are because they lack half of what it takes for them not to let you down.
Amy’s project has received support from key tastemakers, including BBC Radio, Kiss FM, Rinse, and tastemakers from Clash, Hunger, Wonderland Magazine, Echoes Magazine, The Voice Newspaper, and All Hip Hop, Singers Room, Link Up TV, This Is RnB, UKF and much more.
This June Amy returns with her new single, Smoke Castles.
Smoke Castles is about the distance created between two people when the foundations they built, were not strong enough to sustain the weight of the relationship. It’s about a lack of clarity in communication and the discomfort of uncertainty that brings. As Amy sings out: ‘Speaking smoke, you’re so unclear, white ribbons have tied up the air.’
With Amy recently signing a deal with EMPIRE, this is set to be an exciting new chapter for the young starlet.

Album Review
Paul Terry, Aptøsrs & Cellarscape unite on bold new album “Alternative Piano Club”
Combining his three artistic alter egos, Paul Terry presents an awe-inspiring new 12-track album, “Alternative Piano Club,” written in collaboration with Aptøsrs and Cellarscape. This is an album-length voyage of music that blends acoustic, rock, and piano-driven cinematic sounds.
Torn between this complex emotional spectrum, all the while the piano remains at its core throughout. Paul Terry opens his “Memento Mori (Chromogenic Phase)” contemplatively, creating a solemn, reflective mood. Cellarscape’s “Three Years Of Roses“ is warmer, whereas Aptøsrs’ “Questionnaires“ is much more textured as a large, sculptural post-rock.
“Dave’s Theme,” written by Paul Terry, musically expands the narrative with a touch of cinematic elevation that aligns well. “We Shape The Clouds” by Cellarscape is fluffy and heart-warming, “Writers Behind The Curtain” is somber, more narrative. We are all together in “A Place We Made,” an honest, intimate, emotionally grounded space.
The project contains vocal warmth and cultural depth in the song “This Is My Home“ by Silas Miami & Lana Crowster. Proceeding in a totally different direction is the stronger emotional clarity of Paul Terry’s acoustic storytelling on “Any Time You Want To Fly” and “No Sleep Has Come.” Cellarscape presents a wide, spacious atmospheric moment in “Cygnus,” while Aptøsrs ends with “Rust Mountain (Monochrome Piano Version),” a simple gem that brings the project full circle.
The mixing of Sam Okell and Adam Noble, the mastering of Alex Wharton and Robin Schmidt have, in many ways, brought their polish to it while still making it feel human. “Alternative Piano Club” is a work entity, where three musical personalities met and talk mind in the same emotional language.
