Super Bowl Protester Turns Himself In After Halftime Show Stir

H

In a surprising move that created a lot of buzz beyond just football fans, the man who disrupted Kendrick Lamar’s halftime show at the Super Bowl has now turned himself into the police. Louisiana State Police announced that 41-year-old Zul-Qarnain Kwame Nantambu surrendered after the incident at the Superdome in February. He faces charges for resisting arrest and disturbing the peace by interrupting a legal event. This disruption happened during Super Bowl 59, one of the most-watched entertainment moments of the year, as Kendrick Lamar put on a powerful performance.

While he was singing the song “TV Off,” Nantambu appeared in the background waving flags that represented Palestine and Sudan, with messages reading “Sudan and Free Gaza.” Even though his actions caught the attention of millions and quickly went viral online, police stated that this protest was neither approved nor part of the official show. Interestingly, authorities claimed that the NFL had actually hired Nantambu to be part of the performance, but he wasn’t allowed to showcase any protest during the event.

The NFL has distanced itself from the protest, clarifying that while Nantambu was involved as a performer, his political message wasn’t approved or expected. Police argue that his actions violated the rules set for participants in the show. This incident raises important questions about the limits of self-expression, especially in big events that combine entertainment, culture, and sponsorship. Some people view Nantambu’s actions as a brave and necessary statement, while others see it as a poorly timed distraction.

Now, the focus shifts from lively discussions among fans to the courtroom. As Nantambu faces legal repercussions, the cultural impact of his brief but meaningful protest continues to be felt, highlighting the complex relationship between performance and activism in today’s divided world. Regardless of whether his actions are seen as bold or reckless, it’s clear that even in highly polished and controlled environments, unexpected voices can make their presence known.

Snoop Dogg Wants To Pay Someone $10,000 A Month To Eat Ice Cream

Snoop Dogg has had a lot of job titles over the years, but “official ice cream taster” wasn’t one of them until now — and he’s hiring someone else to fill it. His company Dr. Bombay just opened applications for the role, and it pays $10,000 a month.

The gig is fully remote and open to anyone on the planet, which Snoop announced himself in a video that’s exactly as laid-back as you’d expect. “I love the paper, but not the paperwork,” he said, explaining that HR firm Deel is handling the logistics while he handles, presumably, the ice cream.

The actual job is less “sit around and eat pints all day” and more part-time cultural scout. Whoever gets it will track flavor and food trends around the world, report back on what people are eating and talking about, and work directly with Dr. Bombay’s in-house flavor lead to help shape what the brand does next. It’s a three-month contractor role, and Snoop’s team says they’re actively looking outside the usual resume pile — creators and non-traditional applicants welcome.

Dr. Bombay itself leans nostalgic, with flavors like Long Beach Fruit Cart, Sticky Caramel Apple Pie, and Peanut Butter Jelly Time already sitting on shelves at Walmart and moving through DoorDash and Instacart. Somewhere out there is one very lucky applicant about to get paid five figures a month to have opinions about ice cream, and honestly, good for them.
