Vince Staples Unveils Hilarious Netflix Series Trailer and Premiere Date, Get Ready to LOL on February 15

Vince Staples is bringing the laughs to Netflix with his much-anticipated series, “The Vince Staples Show,” and he’s just dropped the first trailer to prove it! Scheduled to premiere on February 15, the five-episode comedy promises a hilarious ride, complete with a surprise cameo from none other than Rick Ross.

Co-created by Staples alongside Ian Edelman and Maurice Williams, the show boasts a star-studded cast featuring Vanessa Bell Calloway, Andrea Ellsworth, and recurring appearances by Naté Jones, Arturo Castro, Scott MacArthur, Bryan Greenberg, and Myles Bullock. With executive producers including Kenya Barris, Corey Smyth, Ian Edelman, Maurice Williams, and William Stefan Smith, it’s a comedic masterpiece in the making.

Staples, who first announced the series in 2022, expressed his excitement, saying, “I am excited to partner with Netflix and Kenya Barris on The Vince Staples Show. This has been something I have been developing for some time and I am happy it’s coming to fruition.” Netflix’s head of comedy, Tracey Pakosta, added, “Vince has already established himself as one of the most talented young musicians today, and we’re really excited about how his sensibility—and sense of humor—will translate into a unique comedy series.”

But that’s not all from Vince Staples! Beyond the Netflix spotlight, he’s teasing new music in 2024. In a recent Instagram post captioned with plans announced during a studio session, Staples is gearing up to drop beats once again, with fans eagerly awaiting his next musical masterpiece. Lionel Richie Cancels Three Concerts After Latest Heart Procedure

Lionel Richie has canceled three upcoming shows with Earth, Wind & Fire after having a cardiac procedure to fix an irregular heart rhythm. The 77 year Old singer was re admitted to the hospital this week for treatment and underwent an ablation for atrial fibrillation. People confirmed it went well.

The latest health setback has impacted Richie’s touring plans. His Sept. 26 San Francisco show and Sept. 30 Chicago concert have been canceled, as has the Oct. 2 Columbus show. TMZ first reported the hospitalization, saying it was Richie’s third hospital stay in three months.

This isn’t the first time Richie’s tour plans have been derailed by health concerns this year. He cut a concert short in St. Paul in June after feeling dizzy onstage. He later postponed two shows on medical advice before eventually returning to the tour.

Despite the latest cancellations, Richie’s current tour schedule includes a scheduled Oct. 14 show at the Encore Theater in Las Vegas. Wynn Las Vegas still lists that show, along with other October dates.

Richie’s representative notes that the procedure was “a success,” and his recent health problems have interrupted his performance schedule. But he will return after recovery, with the Las Vegas performance on Oct. 14 as his next scheduled appearance.

Outkast’s Ovrkast Name Dispute Escalates Into Federal Trademark Lawsuit

A dispute over the name Outkast between the duo and Oakland rapper-producer Ovrkast has moved from a seemingly private agreement to federal court, with the company that controls Outkast’s trademarks accusing the artist of failing to honor a promised name change.

High Schoolers LLC filed a lawsuit against Ovrkast, aka Silas Wilson, in the Northern District of Georgia on Sept. 16. The trademark case is listed on the federal docket. High Schoolers LLC is listed as the plaintiff.

Outkast’s attorneys first sent Wilson a cease-and-desist notice in June 2025 after raising concerns about the similarity between the names, AllHipHop reports. The two sides subsequently agreed that Wilson would retire the OVRKAST name and begin using OVERKXST instead.

Wilson has also publicly responded to the legal dispute. After news of the lawsuit spread on social media, he posted “Ouch” on X and then commented on the situation on Instagram, saying he thought the relationship with Outkast was based on love.

Meanwhile, Outkast is asking a judge to stop Wilson from using OVRKAST or any other name that it thinks is confusingly similar. The lawsuit also seeks damages over the alleged trademark infringement. Wilson received a breach notice in August for allegedly failing to follow through on the name transition they agreed to, according to the complaint.

The Outkast dispute is still pending before U.S. District Judge Eleanor L. Ross in Georgia. As the court weighs the claims regarding the contested stage name and the alleged failure to enact the agreed-upon change, Outkast is seeking a jury trial.
