us he “blames the man in the mirror,” and that he “never should’ve been with her.” This kind of transparency and lower tempo coming from a male artist plays with the hearts of his female audience, as he usually produces songs with a heavy bass and strong lyrics. An apologetic man at the hands of his own fate, Ty’Dre takes a vulnerable approach with Clearer, expressing yet another display of his versatility and demonstrating how a true man can take responsibility for the damage he has caused.

Ty’Dre lets the piano take the lead in Clearer and the keys guide him in creating his apology. He often starts the next sentence before fully finishing the last one, reminiscent of a man struggling to get all of his thoughts out.
