The Amazing Broken Man – Inlanders

The Amazing Broken Man drops a new song “Inlanders”. The Amazing Broken Man is a project by Brazilian singer-songwriter Odorico Leal (1983). The artist had two songs featured on the British TV series Skins: Near Town and New Year Son. After a long hiatus, the artist released his old tracks on Spotify in 2020; die-hard fans of Skins took notice, and an audience began to grow from that. Since then, he has recorded and released three new singles: At Your Feet (2020), 1983 (2021), and Inlanders (2021).

The songs rely on interesting finger-picking patterns and bittersweet melodies to bring forth an eerie musical landscape. Nick Drake and Caetano Veloso are obvious influences for 1983; in Inlanders, his latest single, besides some Elliott Smith echos, the artist pursues a soundscape closer to Clube da Esquina, a 1972 record by Brazilian legends Milton Nascimento and Lô Borges. The unsigned artist currently lives in São Paulo and is working on his first full-length album.
