Thrillhouse Share Groovy New EP ‘Wedding Disco’

Delivering a whole host of nostalgic ’80s pop sounds, Brighton-based group Thrillhouse have returned with their highly anticipated EP ‘Wedding Disco’. Comically placing cynically tinged lyricism against uplifting and groovy melodies, Thrillhouse showcase how their sharp wit and musical talents go hand in hand, as they tackle existential questions whilst making you want to dance. It’s not often that an alt-pop group arrives with something completely unique – but Thrillhouse have only gone and done it!

Speaking on the EP, Thrillhouse’s lead singer Sam revealed: “’Wedding Disco’ is essentially a concept EP; songs that’d fit in nicely at an 80s wedding party… but really it was just an excuse for us to write big cheesy tunes. We produced and mixed it ourselves which, turns out, is a hellish experience that I wouldn’t wish upon my worst enemy, but we’re happy with how it’s come out.”

Sam further explained: “Most of our tunes up to this point have been about my struggle with the inevitable yet chronically depressing passing of time… And this EP is no different! Well, that’s a semi lie. There’s a love song on there and a song about lockdown madness, sort of. So a mixed bag all in all. Something for everyone. But particularly those who also hate the chronically depressing passing of time. Having said that…I’ve made it sound like a miserable excuse of an EP. It’s actually quite fun. Promise.”

Reetoxa captures a fleeting moment in new release “Thrift Shop Dress”

thrift-shop-dress

Reetoxa’s latest release, “Thrift Shop Dress,” is a bright, feel-good rock track that captures the moment when you see someone unforgettable and have no idea what to do about it. The track starts with a lot of energy, attitude, and a rush of youthful spontaneity that feels both new and familiar.

While driving through Brunswick on the way to band practice, Jason wrote the song. It came to him almost as quickly as the moment that gave him the idea. When he saw a beautiful, effortlessly cool girl, his imagination took over, and within a minute, the bones of “Thrift Shop Dress” were already alive. That sense of urgency runs through the whole song, giving it a real, unfiltered pulse that can’t be faked.

“Thrift Shop Dress” is simple but something everyone can relate to, seeing someone across the street who makes you stop in your tracks. Reetoxa doesn’t make things more complicated, instead, she leans into the raw feelings of the moment, the curiosity, the doubt, and the crazy stories your mind starts telling you right away.

Jonathan Zogbi reaches new heights with new release “Sky High”

Jonathan Zogbi

Jonathan Zogbi’s latest release, “Sky High,” is a turning point in his career as a musician. It turns personal problems into a message of hope and growth. The track has a catchy beat and a modern, sleek production style, but it also has a deeper meaning and purpose.

“Sky High” draws on modern pop music and gives it a spiritual boost. The production is bright, which makes it easy to get into, but it doesn’t take away from the song’s emotional core. On the other hand, Zogbi walks a fine line between being popular and telling a good story.

The story behind this release is what makes it so cool. After getting a diagnosis that changed his life, Zogbi left his job as an engineer and turned inward, eventually turning to music. This started as a personal outlet, but it has clearly grown into something more purposeful: a place for realness, connection, and art rooted in a message. Jonathan Zogbi’s new song “Sky High” is also a statement about an artistic path defined by purpose, showing that you can rise even when things are tough.
