Boosie Badazz Offers Tips and Mentoring to Budding Young Rap Artists

Recently, Louisiana native rapper Boosie Badazz was present at the 2023 BET Hip Hop Awards. During the event, he was asked to provide advice to other rappers on how to have a long-lasting career in the industry. Boosie’s guidance was simple and clear: possessing talent is essential, and survival is paramount.

“To maintain your longevity you can’t get killed,” he began. “So I would tell them to stay out them streets, don’t rap beef with dudes, and stay alive. As long as you got talent, as long as you stay alive it’s a chance. I wouldn’t tell ’em just keep making music and being ignorant and trying to be gangsters, you know. I would tell them try to stay alive and your talent’s gonna speak for itself. When you do right by people, everything’s gonna fall into place.” Boosie also added, “You just can’t cheat.”

Boosie emphasized the importance of authenticity and not taking shortcuts in one’s career. “I never rapped about people to get where I’m at,” he explained. “So I would tell them, you know, stay real.”

Boosie, with his fair amount of personal disputes in the past, is aptly suited to provide such counsel. His advice is based on his personal experiences and his comprehension of the possible consequences that can result from such scenarios.

In addition to sharing advice with young artists, Boosie has also been proactive in trying to make an impact on the younger generation. Last month, he reached out to Kamala Harris expressing his desire to meet and discuss gun violence. Boosie believes that young people are more likely to listen to his message because they look up to him.
