Tuohy Family Agrees to Scrub “Adoption” Claims Amid Ongoing Legal Clash with Michael Oher

In the ongoing legal battle between Michael Oher and the Tuohy family, the Tuohys have informed a Tennessee judge that they will remove any public references to “adopting” Oher. The family’s website and public speaking materials will no longer contain this contentious assertion, signaling a significant development in the case.

Earlier this year, it was revealed that the Tuohys had never legally adopted Oher but instead had placed him into a conservatorship. Allegations arose that the family conveyed to Oher that this arrangement was equivalent to adoption.

The latest update in court centers around the Tuohys’ claim that Oher was compensated for his story in “The Blind Side.” The family’s attorneys claimed that Oher earned $138,000 in profits from the project between June 2007 and April 2023, with payments ranging from $117 to $31,500. Oher’s legal team countered, stating that at least $2.5 million was missing from the financial report submitted by the Tuohys.

Adding another layer to the story, Michael Lewis, the original author of “The Blind Side” book, suggested that Oher’s lawsuit may be influenced by Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy (CTE). Lewis asserted that head injuries often result in behavioral changes in football players, attempting to explain Oher’s legal actions. However, critics argue that Lewis, a close friend of Sean Tuohy, may be using CTE claims to divert attention from more troubling allegations of racial manipulation involving a white family and a Black teenager.

Amidst these legal complexities, the truth behind Oher’s journey and his relationship with the Tuohys remains a focal point, challenging both the narrative of talent deficiencies and the distracting specter of CTE.

Simone Biles Soars to Historic Sixth Gold, A Gymnastics Legend’s Golden Triumph

Simone Biles

Simone Biles has etched her name into the history books once again, clinching her sixth Olympic gold medal in the women’s all-around final. This monumental achievement makes her the first American gymnast to reach such a pinnacle. Biles narrowly edged out Brazil’s Rebeca Andrade, who took silver, and her teammate Suni Lee, who secured bronze.

At 27, Biles has become the oldest all-around Olympic champion since Maria Gorokhovskaya in 1952 and joins an elite group as only the third woman to win multiple golds in this event. Despite a hiccup on the uneven bars, Biles dazzled on the balance beam and floor, overcoming a confidence-shaking mistake. “I was praying to every single God out there trying to refocus and recenter myself,” Biles confessed, adding a touch of humor about her uneven bars performance.
