Lil Wayne’s ‘Tha Carter VI’ Defies Critics With Impressive First-Week Sales Surge

Lil Wayne is getting mixed reactions to his latest album, Tha Carter VI, but the numbers tell a different story. Even though some fans and critics aren’t thrilled, the album is proving to be a big hit when it comes to sales in its first week, showing that Lil Wayne is still a major player in the changing hip-hop world. Expectations were incredibly high after a long seven-year wait since his last album, Tha Carter V. The Carter albums are legendary in hip-hop, and fans were hoping this new release would live up to that standard.

Lil Wayne is a respected figure who has influenced many artists over the years. However, the response to Tha Carter VI, which was released last Friday, hasn’t been all that positive. People have been talking a lot on social media, but not always in Wayne’s favor. Some longtime fans expressed their disappointment, saying the beats weren’t great, the featured artists didn’t impress them, and there were parts where Wayne’s performance did not shine as much as they expected. Many feel that the album didn’t quite meet its high expectations.

Despite all that, Tha Carter VI is doing really well in sales. Reports say it’s on track to sell about 110,000 copies in its first week, with around 35,000 of those being physical albums, a sign that his loyal fans still want to buy his music in tangible form, even before the official release date. It’s an interesting situation: while critics are debating the quality of the album, fans are still showing their support by purchasing it. The sales figures indicate that, even if the reviews aren’t glowing, people still pay attention to Lil Wayne and are willing to spend money on his work.

Final sales numbers will be confirmed soon, but what’s already clear is that Lil Wayne is still a powerful force in music. He continues to connect with a wide audience, even with mixed reviews, proving that he’s not going anywhere anytime soon. Tha Carter VI may not have received the total praise that some expected, but it’s still performing well, just like Lil Wayne himself.

Snoop Dogg Wants To Pay Someone $10,000 A Month To Eat Ice Cream

Snoop Dogg has had a lot of job titles over the years, but “official ice cream taster” wasn’t one of them until now — and he’s hiring someone else to fill it. His company Dr. Bombay just opened applications for the role, and it pays $10,000 a month.

The gig is fully remote and open to anyone on the planet, which Snoop announced himself in a video that’s exactly as laid-back as you’d expect. “I love the paper, but not the paperwork,” he said, explaining that HR firm Deel is handling the logistics while he handles, presumably, the ice cream.

The actual job is less “sit around and eat pints all day” and more part-time cultural scout. Whoever gets it will track flavor and food trends around the world, report back on what people are eating and talking about, and work directly with Dr. Bombay’s in-house flavor lead to help shape what the brand does next. It’s a three-month contractor role, and Snoop’s team says they’re actively looking outside the usual resume pile — creators and non-traditional applicants welcome.

Dr. Bombay itself leans nostalgic, with flavors like Long Beach Fruit Cart, Sticky Caramel Apple Pie, and Peanut Butter Jelly Time already sitting on shelves at Walmart and moving through DoorDash and Instacart. Somewhere out there is one very lucky applicant about to get paid five figures a month to have opinions about ice cream, and honestly, good for them.
