Ski Mask The Slump God Honors XXXTENTACION At Emotional Memorial

H

June 18 holds special significance in the hip-hop community, especially for fans of the late artist XXXTENTACION. On the seventh anniversary of his tragic passing, his close friend and collaborator, Ski Mask The Slump God, took the time to honor him in a heartfelt way. A private memorial was held at the home of X’s mother, Cleopatra Bernard, creating a powerful moment for remembrance. Ski’s presence was deeply personal. The two were musical partners and were like brothers during a transformative time in hip-hop.

Their unique bond and music helped shape a new generation of rap that was raw, honest, and emotionally rich. No Jumper shared photos and videos from the memorial on Instagram, showing Ski Mask connecting with X’s family, sharing laughs and memories that bridged past and present. It was clear that this was a sincere moment for Ski, who was mourning the loss of a friend and creative ally since 2018. This memorial also comes at a reflective time for Ski, who has been dealing with changes in his relationships, including a recent falling out with DJ Scheme, another collaborator. However, events like this remind us that loyalty, love, and legacy are what truly matter.

Watching Ski Mask honor X through interactions with his mother and cherished memories felt like an important part of a story that is still unfolding. As fans, we often see artists through their music and the media, but moments like this reveal the deep personal connections behind their work. Ultimately, it was about remembering a friend and cherishing their bond. As the day came to a close, it became clear that some friendships are much more than just music.

Nike Zoom Hyperflight “Safari” Official Images Reveal Bold Print Ahead of Holiday Release

nike-hyperflight

The Nike Zoom Hyperflight is getting a bold new look, with the “Safari” colorway coming soon. We have official photos of the unique design for a closer look. The sneaker sports bright orange accents and a translucent outsold, and is expected to arrive during the holiday season at a retail price of $190.

The new version is inspired by the Safari print that is familiar from the Air Safari. That pattern covers most of the Hyperflight’s soft, molded upper, giving the basketball shoe a unique look compared with some of the model’s other recent colorways. Together, the unusual texture and pattern make the silhouette feel especially suited to the adventurous design.

The primary contrast across the shoe is orange, used in the trim and other details. The bright color pops against the speckled base without being overwhelming. Black is also present in the design, on the glossy support structure around the midfoot and the soft leather collar. The look is topped off with a see-through outsole that adds another visual element to the overall color scheme.

The sneaker will drop with style code IZ2573-010 and is expected in men’s sizing. With a retail price tag of $190, Nike, Foot Locker, and Sheikh are among the expected retailers. As for when you can expect it, it’s likely to be the holiday season, though we don’t have a solid release date.

The “Safari” colorway comes amid a busy period for the Zoom Hyperflight. This year, Nike has revived the model in several colors, bringing a new wave of attention to the silhouette through a series of releases. Another forthcoming option is the vibrant “Green Apple” pair, also scheduled for a holiday season release.

The Hyperflight’s history also provides context for the latest return. Jason Williams wore the model in the early 2000s, linking it to a memorable era for the sneaker. That association also helps explain why new colorways can generate excitement beyond the shoe’s look, especially for those who remember it from its previous run.

The Safari design is a definitive statement that does not change the characteristic shape of the Hyperflight. Instead, it uses the familiar silhouette as a canvas for a pattern that has already become recognizable through another Nike model. The orange accents provide a bright contrast, while the black midfoot structure and collar balance it out.

Now that official images have surfaced, sneaker fans have a clearer idea of what to expect from the holiday release. The $190 price, style code, and expected retail partners have also been identified, but a specific launch date has not been confirmed.

For Nike, the “Safari” is another way to bring attention back to the Zoom Hyperflight. One of its more distinctive new looks is this returning model, featuring speckled print, orange trim, black support details, and an icy-looking translucent outsole.

Snoop Dogg Gives ‘Lodi Dodi’ a Fresh Animated Look in New Tristious-Directed Video

SNOOP-DOGG-ON

Snoop Dogg is ushering one of his signature early-career albums into a new visual era. The hip-hop legend revisited “Lodi Dodi,” a highlight of his 1993 debut album, Doggystyle, with an animated music video directed by Toronto-born, Philadelphia-based animator Tristan Zammit, who goes by the professional name Tristious. The new visual dropped Thursday, Nov. 5, giving the classic West Coast track a new presentation for a generation of listeners who discover music through online animation and visual edits.

“Lodi Dodi” is getting a different kind of treatment more than three decades after Doggystyle introduced the song to audiences. The new video doesn’t just play the original recording. It places an animated Snoop in a colorful cartoon world and includes footage of the rapper performing in the studio. The combination fuses the original artist’s persona with a distinctly animated visual approach, giving fans another way to experience a familiar song.

Given Zammit’s past work with some of the biggest names in modern hip-hop, it makes sense that he was tapped to head up the project. The animator has built up a résumé that includes videos for XXXTENTACION, Juice WRLD, Lil Uzi Vert and Lil Yachty. His credits include XXXTENTACION’s “BAD!,“ Juice WRLD’s “Righteous“ and Lil Uzi Vert’s “Myron,“ putting him in a creative space that merges animation with the music and online culture that many younger fans are into.

Zammit brings that experience to “Lodi Dodi,“ a song with a much longer heritage. The visuals give Snoop an animated presence while keeping him connected to the real-life performer through the studio footage included. It presents a familiar record without relying on nostalgia alone, allowing the song to meet audiences in a format that feels at home in today’s digital environment.

In production credits, Alex Sarzosa is credited as editor, with Zammit at the helm of direction. Their work gives the new release a distinct creative team behind its animated presentation, while Snoop remains at the center of the visuals. The timing is interesting because the track comes from a period when Snoop was cementing his status as one of hip-hop’s defining voices. The track still calls “Doggystyle” home, and the new video gives “Lodi Dodi“ another chance to connect with first-time listeners.

The song hasn’t changed, but the release reinvigorates how it’s presented. Snoop’s animated look, cartoon backdrop, and live studio performance footage combine to create a fresh visual companion to the 1993 classic. “Lodi Dodi“ gets a modern animated treatment by Tristious without losing touch with the era and album that introduced it to the world.
