PEECH

Small Town America,” primarily written by singer-songwriter Harry Hays Lawson and Adam Miller Wilson, marks the highly anticipated debut EP from rising country-folk artist Peech, released under TAMLA Records and Capitol CMG. This record is undeniably a captivating addition to the genre, offering a refreshing yet timeless auditory experience across six meticulously engineered tracks. With this release, Peech establishes himself not merely as a newcomer in the folk-pop sphere but as a compelling storyteller who embodies honesty and vulnerability, affirming his place as a crucial voice that resonates long after the music stops.

Small Town America” unfolds like an intimate diary entry written under a porch light, weaving together themes of nostalgia, resilience, and innocent curiosity about what the future holds. The production, helmed by Leslie Johnson and Adam Banx, skillfully merges rich acoustic instrumentation with modern folk-pop sensibilities, allowing Peech’s soulful vocal delivery to take precedence as he navigates through memories, resilience, and the pursuit of the unknown.

Its opening track, Got It All Wrong,” draws listeners into Peech’s artistic world, a place where heartache transmitted into wisdom and honest reflection on mistakes melds seamlessly with melody. This is deepened in the subsequent track Tomorrow’s, serving as a hopeful anthem advocating for vigilance towards future possibilities, even amid uncertainty. Conversely, Wild One injects a vibrant energy, epitomizing the spirit of liberation for those who refuse to be tamed, while simultaneously encapsulating the weight of small-town stories reaching for universal truths.Be Together illustrates the essence of human connection, showcasing Peech’s deft ability to balance intimate lyricism with anthemic flair, underscoring love’s stabilizing force in turbulent times.

The EP takes an adventurous turn with Going West,” a track that paints images of highways, sunsets, and the thrill of pursuing new aspirations without being stuck in the past, hope without ignoring hardship. It reflects the exciting dynamic of leaving home in search of bigger dreams, echoing the restless spirit of youth, all conveyed through a lens of folk sincerity paired with pop accessibility. Closing out the EP is Don’t Miss Your Moment,” co-written with Au/Ra and Leslie Johnson, which delivers a poignant message about life’s ephemeral nature, urging listeners to seize every opportunity to grow, love, and live fully before it slips away.

What distinguishes “Small Town America” is its compelling inherent duality. The songs are profoundly introspective, intricately rooted in Peech’s snapshot experience of small-town existence, navigating farewells, grappling with emotional turmoil, nurturing aspirations for more promising futures, and confronting the inevitable gravitational pull of one’s origins. This thematic resonance is particularly impactful for listeners who have ever stood at the crossroads of familiarity and ambition. His distinctive synthesis of country soul and folk-pop craftsmanship fosters a sense of authenticity that cuts through the clutter of a saturated musical landscape. This EP serves as the prologue to a broader narrative, one that promises to enrich playlists with sincerity and heartfelt warmth.

Amanda Fagan unveils lost love and regret on latest release “Forever Yearn”

Amanda Fagan

Amanda Fagans latest release, “Forever Yearn,” is a tragic love story of pride, lost opportunity, and the harrowing knowledge that some mistakes can never be undone. A young couple at heart, wild and almost in love, but whose pride prevents the relationship from flowering. Their story doesn’t end with seeing what went wrong. It hurts more because you don’t see it for years.

“It’s a song about breaking cycles, but the characters are caught in the consequences of their choices. They learn from their mistakes, but knowledge cannot change the past. What remains is the longing for each other, which gives the song its emotional weight and its title, “Forever Yearn.”

Inspired by Emily Brontë’s Wuthering Heights, the song feels like a love story that never gets old. Fagan’s premise blends regret and longing, showing how pride can linger long after an alternative decision could have changed everything. So “Forever Yearn” is less about lost love than about two people wondering what might have been.

iLLLACAT brings sharp bars and catchy production with latest release “Like Dat”

iLLLACAT

iLLLACAT drops “Like Dat,” a Hip-Hop cut with punchy production, percussion, and synths that give the record movement. Bookie comes on the track and sets the tone immediately with the hard lines, “Get out of my face with the gas, we’re on the chase for the cash, if you’re moving fake I’ll pass, I’ll pack it, and I’ll put it in a bag.” The delivery is right there in the money, the movement, and staying away from anything fake.

The production leaves plenty of space to land those words. Percussion powers the track with synths adding another layer to the beat, a backdrop for the straight-up vocal approach. “Like Dat” maintains tight energy and, instead of overcomplicating its message, lets the verses do the work in terms of personality.

The line, “Steady making money while smoking a pain killer” provides another memorable moment and an insight into the attitude that runs throughout the record. iLLLACAT brings us “Like Dat”, a pure hip-hop joint with Bookie on the track. A catchy production that stays sharp, an assertive voice, memorable lines, and enough rhythmic punch to keep the record moving.
