Freya Magee shares urgent new single “Forget Yourself Not”

Freya Magee

Her debut single, “Duplicity,” established Freya Magee as a voice willing to explore the dark depths of identity and the anxious energy of wanting to be anything and everything all at once. Her second release, the incredible “Forget Yourself Not,” finds the emerging artist honing her razor-sharp edge with a song that positively hums with urgency, truth, and emotional fervency

This is a flare, not a ghost, “Duplicity” was chilling in its haunting beauty, but “Forget Yourself Not” is furious, a direct confrontation of memory, accountability, and the delicate distinctions between what you have said and what you have told yourself you remember. It is the head-spinning aftermath of attempting to hold people accountable for what they have claimed, even though they don’t seem to remember it themselves.

It is harsh and tender. Freya’s vocals reflect that tension. She performs with keen, chilling accuracy, her banging about both wrecking ball and risk, leading listeners to and fro between reminiscence and settlement. It builds on the production by shoving urgent guitars through the blend, producing layers of noise that build and replicate, echo and oscillate, symbolizing the song’s internal push-and-pull.

“Forget Yourself Not” is a song with many meanings. It is about the terror of being canceled by those who retreat into the inviting branches of forgetfulness. Still, it is more than that; it is a bravado narrative where people fight to be remembered the story they assumed in the eyes of the beholder, whatever they may remember. In doing so, it demonstrates the song to be genuine.

Instead, it is a track of candid vulnerability and emotional world-weariness. With that step, Freya Magee has arrived as a bright counterbalance to the balance of today’s pop song. She is not scared; she is not scared to be afraid of the hues between. “Forget Yourself Not” is proof that she is ready to disrupt her open truth. For listeners who require musical artist who can be brutal and delicate, Freya Magee is now accessible on Spotify .

Paul Terry, Aptøsrs & Cellarscape unite on bold new album “Alternative Piano Club”

Combining his three artistic alter egos, Paul Terry presents an awe-inspiring new 12-track album, “Alternative Piano Club,” written in collaboration with Aptøsrs and Cellarscape. This is an album-length voyage of music that blends acoustic, rock, and piano-driven cinematic sounds.

Torn between this complex emotional spectrum, all the while the piano remains at its core throughout. Paul Terry opens his “Memento Mori (Chromogenic Phase)” contemplatively, creating a solemn, reflective mood. Cellarscape’s “Three Years Of Roses is warmer, whereas Aptøsrs’ “Questionnaires is much more textured as a large, sculptural post-rock.

“Dave’s Theme,” written by Paul Terry, musically expands the narrative with a touch of cinematic elevation that aligns well. “We Shape The Clouds” by Cellarscape is fluffy and heart-warming, “Writers Behind The Curtain” is somber, more narrative. We are all together in “A Place We Made,” an honest, intimate, emotionally grounded space.

The project contains vocal warmth and cultural depth in the song “This Is My Home by Silas Miami & Lana Crowster. Proceeding in a totally different direction is the stronger emotional clarity of Paul Terry’s acoustic storytelling on “Any Time You Want To Fly” and “No Sleep Has Come.” Cellarscape presents a wide, spacious atmospheric moment in “Cygnus,” while Aptøsrs ends with “Rust Mountain (Monochrome Piano Version),” a simple gem that brings the project full circle.

The mixing of Sam Okell and Adam Noble, the mastering of Alex Wharton and Robin Schmidt have, in many ways, brought their polish to it while still making it feel human. “Alternative Piano Club” is a work entity, where three musical personalities met and talk mind in the same emotional language.
