Fernando’s Eyes unveils a restless freedom on latest release “Room On Fire”
Post-punkers Fernando’s Eyes return with “Room On Fire,” a character-driven song where movement meets restraint. The song is based on live toms and programd drums. Saxophone player Lina Langendorf adds yet another distinctive voice to the arrangement. You can hear the strings swimming cleanly across the track, and they’re a perfect foil to the steady rhythmic push underneath.
“Room On Fire” has a 90s feel, is snare-driven, and has a human touch with the soft vocals. This time around, instead of going full-on atmospheric like we did on “Center Of Your World,” this one takes a more straightforward route. That direct approach gives the track a different kind of momentum, keeping the instruments clean while the rhythm keeps the tune moving.
