Keke Wyatt’s camp is addressing reports about her recent jail stint in Georgia, saying the court paperwork lists a different charge than some of the claims circulating online.

Court documents from Henry County only show one charge, Wyatt’s Instagram said in a statement hours after reports linked the singer’s arrest to child cruelty and threats. Her representatives also denied several allegations that appeared in reports following news of the arrest. Wyatt’s team denied she was charged with cruelty to children and disputed reports of more serious assault related allegations, CBS News Atlanta reports. They saw court documentation that said simple assault.

The statement follows a TMZ report that said a representative from the Henry County Sheriff’s Office stated Wyatt was booked Sept. 20 on charges of terroristic threats, simple assault, and cruelty to children. Two days later, TMZ reported she was released on a $1,050 bond.

CBS News Atlanta also reviewed Henry County booking information that included aggravated assault and terroristic threats, along with a misdemeanor charge for child cruelty. According to Wyatt’s reps, those entries don’t correspond to the court record in the case.

That difference has led to conflicting reports about the charges currently attached to Wyatt’s case. Her team has stressed that their answer is not meant to justify the facts of the matter or influence the perception of the case.

Instead, the singer’s representatives are asking that the case be reported based on the available court documentation. No further details were given on what led to the arrest. Wyatt is likely to pursue it through the legal process. Her representatives also said the arrest will not affect her upcoming performances, and her schedule remains unchanged.

The main controversy in the case for now is the difference between the booking information made public and the court documents Wyatt’s team has presented. Those conflicting records are a major part of the legal process as it moves forward.
