FAYA is a detached vision of an urban and sick world. Kool Herc, founding father of Hip Hop, said in 1988 that the whole chemistry (hip hop) came from Jamaica. He was right. The Marseillais HipHop group Eric G & les Affranchis us presents a surprising new single, a kind of “Faya “, a need to go back to basics. Drawing for the first time in these origins, reggae, the group unveils an original and powerful track, with a simple and punchy beat, a bass drill, a well-rooted skank guitar, and a cloudy atmosphere.
The lyrics are sharp, imaginative and philosophical, led by the hybrid flow of Eric G and SaïcK oscillating between rap and reggae. The track is mixed and mastered at the Sodasound studio in Paris, which has in particular saw SCH, Ninho, Zola, Nekfeu … Official release on all digital platforms on 01/07/22. The single will be accompanied in the coming weeks by a clip video and a textile merchandising is being studied, inspired by the cover of the single.
