EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW WITH UP AND COMING SUPERSTAR OPTIK

Hello Optik
, Thanks for coming to Honk Magazine to talk about your career.

Tell us a little more about when you first got into music?

When I first got seriously into writing rap music I was 14 years old and going to high school in Fort Collins, CO. A friend of mine asked me to rap battle him and I was more than down to try it out. When he destroyed me and I was unable to defend myself, I realized that I knew I had it in me and I just needed to practice and hone in on it. Throughout the year I wrote so much that I didn’t even pay attention in class.

If you could describe your sound/style in one word, what would it be and why?

Abstract. I would choose this word because I feel that every one of my songs touches on abstract concepts and ideas.

What would you say to any aspiring recording artists who look up to your work?

I would tell any aspiring artists to be sure to always stay true to their own style and never to go with the norm. The only way you get true fans is by breaking the norm and giving them something truly unique and special to them.

Do you have anything new or upcoming we can expect to see from you?

I have an EP about finished and I’m working on an album but no set dates yet!!!

She displays her journey to life in her music video with a performance that leaves folks to look in an exceeding trance. The river, trees, loamy sand, and long grass compose a toned-down background representing the calm and serene production of “Softly platinum. 1”, evoking the unhappiness of Artiz’s sorrow. Artiz, sitting ahead alongside the band H A U N T E R, sings from her soul, bearing all of her emotions. In contrast, the audience sees and hears Artiz’s pain and anger in her facial expressions, movements, and dynamic and superimposed voice.

Noted as a fan favorite, Lo Artiz has sold out multiple shows at the infamous Troubadour nightclub in West Hollywood. Artiz has also been featured in blogs such as Earmilk, Peaches N Pop, Fashionably Early, Alfitude, and more. Lo is beyond a triple threat.
