Jack Louis Cooper Shares Catchy New Single ‘Lying Low’

Jack Louis Cooper returns with his new track ‘Lying Low’, his first single since the release of his 2020 EP ‘A Slow but Sure Corner’. Jack pulls from summery, indie sounds and turns them on their head with jaunty, guitar driven instrumentation and a sincere vocal delivery, creating a refreshing juxtaposition. His introspective and raw lyrical themes blend seamlessly with his energetic and uplifting sound in a way that almost catches the listener off guard. Bold, catchy and every bit authentic, ‘Lying Low’ is a memorable and highly addictive offering from the Bristol singer-songwriter.

Discussing the new single, Jack Louis Cooper shares: It was at the start of 2021, deep into the third lockdown in England and I was back at my parents house when I started writing Lying Low. Having been reflecting on the last year and my own mental health, lyrics started to come together about being stuck overthinking in your own head and trying to process what was going on in the world. Musically I wanted to create something driving and catchy as I was dreaming of playing live again with a full band. It made Lying Low this mixture of introspective lyrics and a song that needs to be played live.”

Through catchy melodies and direct lyricism Jack Louis Cooper wants to open up a conversation: specifically around mental health and the stigmas that surround it. The 25 year old Bristol based songwriter uses his music as a way of tackling this, writing about his own experiences with mental health and building relatable open conversations with others through his IGTV podcast, ‘Come As You Are’.
