Kamaiyah Celebrates The Release Of Her New Project ‘No Explanations’ With A Fiery Video For ‘Art of War’

It’s the Oakland rapper’s third release of the year and it features 11 songs, plus guest appearances from Jackboy and Mozzy. …

Kamaiyah has been busy. Though she hadn’t released a full-length project since 2017, she began 2020 by releasing the mixtape Got It Made, followed later by the album Oakland Nights, with fellow hometown native Capolow. Recently she released her third project of the year, No Explanation, and one of its standout tracks, “Art Of War,” now has a video.

It begins with Kamaiyah in a straitjacket as she stands inside a glass box filled with money. Throughout the song, the Oakland rapper takes aim at her competition, condemning them for their passive-aggressive attacks on her.

No Explanation has 10 other tracks, which feature guest appearances from Jackboy and Mozzy. In a press release, Kamaiyah the new direction she’s taking.

My previous two projects this year I would say had a heavy west coast influence. The up-tempo feel good, club music, the baselines, the production etc. But I’m such a versatile artist so I really wanted to showcase my ability to do my thing on any type of beat. I like to say this project gives a southern feel to it. Its definitely not a typical Kamaiyah project, but it’s still good music.

You can watch the “Art Of War” video above.

Swift’s musical juggernaut, the Eras tour, launched in March, is on track to rake in a staggering $4 billion. But that’s not all – her Eras concert film, released in October, has globally pocketed an additional $250 million.

The dynamo from Pennsylvania isn’t slowing down; she dropped the deluxe edition of her 2022 LP Midnights in May and unleashed a wave of re-recorded “Taylor’s Versions” across her discography. As the curtain falls on 2023, Swift’s relentless efforts are reaping rewards.

Clocking in an unprecedented 26.1 billion streams on Spotify this year, Swift leaves heavyweights like Drake, The Weeknd, Peso Pluma, and even the reigning streaming king, Bad Bunny, in her wake. Billboard projects a jaw-dropping $101 million from Spotify royalties alone by year-end, surging to a grand total of $131 million with publishing revenue.

Hold onto your seats – these colossal figures don’t even factor in the windfall from other streaming giants like Apple Music, YouTube Music, and Amazon Music. When combined, estimates suggest a mind-boggling 38.3 billion streams, translating to a whopping $200 million in earnings when accounting for both recorded royalties and publishing.
