Kendrick Lamar And Drake Battle For 2025’s Best-Selling Album
In what’s shaping up to be one of hip-hop’s most compelling storylines of the year, Kendrick Lamar and Drake are once again standing toe-to-toe in the race for 2025’s best-selling album. With Lamar’s GNX and Drake’s Some Sexy Songs 4 U dominating streaming charts, fans are witnessing a rivalry that continues to define the genre. Kendrick Lamar released GNX back in November, a project that has been described by many as both challenging and innovative.
Drake’s February release, Some Sexy Songs 4 U, a collaborative effort with longtime partner PartyNextDoor, offers a smoother, more R&B-infused approach. Despite their differences in sound and style, both projects have risen to the top, igniting debates across the culture. The conversation exploded over the weekend when Kurrco posted the updated list of 2025’s best-selling albums on X (formerly Twitter). Fans quickly weighed in, with some questioning Lamar’s sales tactics. “Only robots have streamed GNX, not real ppl,” one comment joked, while another pointed out, “Note that Drake didn’t sell bundles ..Kendrick sold bundles for GNX.”
But beyond the playful back-and-forth, the list reveals a larger truth, hip-hop’s foundation remains firmly anchored in these two titans. Alongside their newest projects, both Kendrick’s good kid, m.A.A.d city and DAMN., as well as Drake’s Take Care, all cracked the top 10. For albums more than eight years old to still compete with current releases says something not just about their longevity. One fan captured the sentiment best, “I know Drake and Kendrick are always the hyper focus, but there’s a different story here for them. Take Care, DAMN., and GKMC are still charting. This is an actual issue for Hip-Hop. Blog Era music is still outselling most modern rap music.”
Adding to the moment, Lamar recently reached a staggering 50 billion total streams on Spotify, with DAMN. alone crossing 10 billion. These milestones underline why both artists continue to dominate conversations and playlists worldwide. Whether you’re drawn to the sharp social commentary of GNX or the polished melodies of Some Sexy Songs 4 U, 2025 belongs to Kendrick Lamar and Drake. The question now is whose sound will ultimately define this era of hip-hop.

Snoop Dogg Wants To Pay Someone $10,000 A Month To Eat Ice Cream
Snoop Dogg has had a lot of job titles over the years, but “official ice cream taster” wasn’t one of them until now — and he’s hiring someone else to fill it. His company Dr. Bombay just opened applications for the role, and it pays $10,000 a month.
The gig is fully remote and open to anyone on the planet, which Snoop announced himself in a video that’s exactly as laid-back as you’d expect. “I love the paper, but not the paperwork,” he said, explaining that HR firm Deel is handling the logistics while he handles, presumably, the ice cream.
The actual job is less “sit around and eat pints all day” and more part-time cultural scout. Whoever gets it will track flavor and food trends around the world, report back on what people are eating and talking about, and work directly with Dr. Bombay’s in-house flavor lead to help shape what the brand does next. It’s a three-month contractor role, and Snoop’s team says they’re actively looking outside the usual resume pile — creators and non-traditional applicants welcome.
Dr. Bombay itself leans nostalgic, with flavors like Long Beach Fruit Cart, Sticky Caramel Apple Pie, and Peanut Butter Jelly Time already sitting on shelves at Walmart and moving through DoorDash and Instacart. Somewhere out there is one very lucky applicant about to get paid five figures a month to have opinions about ice cream, and honestly, good for them.
