Kendrick Perkins Gives LaMelo Ball A Glowing Review

Heading into the NBA draft, there has been a lot of talk about who the best possible draft picks are. There are plenty of high-profile talents about to enter the league, with LaMelo Ball being at the top of the list when it comes to fame. Of course, LaMelo is the brother of Lonzo and LiAngelo, who have made a name for themselves in the world of professional basketball. While LiAngelo might not be in the NBA, there is no denying he has had an influence on his younger brother.

LaMelo is seen as a top point guard prospect and the conventional wisdom seems to indicate that he will be going to the New York Knicks. Ball is rumored to want to go there, as his father LaVar. During today’s episode of First Take, Kendrick Perkins made the case as to why this is necessary. Perkins gave the youngest Ball brother a ton of praise and said he is the type of player the Knicks absolutely need right now.

Perkins also went on to say that the Knicks should go out and get Tom Thibodeau as their coach, as he is the guy who will implement a tangible culture that the franchise is lacking.

Needless to say, Perkins has plenty of plans for the Knicks, although it remains to be seen whether or not they will take his advice.

Lil Mari Reportedly Dead After Allegedly Mocking BloodHound Q50

Another tragic loss has hit the Chicago rap scene, as reports have surfaced that Lil Mari was shot and killed just days after the death of BloodHound Q50. No Jumper confirmed reports of Lil Mari’s death Tuesday night, but details surrounding the incident remain limited as the investigation unfolds.

To our knowledge, Lil Mari had disrespected BloodHound Q50 after Q50’s death. Lil Mari reportedly went to the scene of Q50’s murder and mocked the deceased rapper. No Jumper apparently reposted a video of the alleged incident to bring more attention to the situation.

But there is no confirmation that the video or Lil Mari’s alleged actions are related to his subsequent death. A police investigation is said to be taking place, but no arrests have been made. The link between the two incidents has yet to be established as the situation unfolds.

Lil Mari had been working hard for the last couple of years trying to get recognition as a recording artist, and his music and videos were getting a lot of buzz. His career was beginning to draw large online audiences, with some of his music videos garnering millions of views.

BloodHound Q50’s death is also an ongoing investigation. The rapper was reportedly shot in his Tesla at a Chicago gas station a couple of weekends ago. No arrests were made as of this report, although security video of the shooting reportedly exists.

Another disturbing development in a story already unfolding has been reports of Lil Mari’s death. The timing is concerning given the reported incident surrounding Q50’s death, but it’s still important to separate what’s been reported from what investigators have determined.

Both cases are still ongoing and developing at this time. No arrests have been made in connection with either death, and the information currently available does not establish a connection between Lil Mari’s alleged actions and his killing.

Drake Shows Support for Kanye West During Donda West Way Celebration

It’s a significant moment for Kanye West and his family, and it seems that Drake is expressing support. West was in Chicago recently to mark the unveiling of Dr. Donda West Way, a street named after his late mother, Dr. Donda West, and Drake quietly acknowledged the occasion online.

The gesture is notable given the complicated history between Drake and Kanye West. The two artists have had moments of intense tension over the years, especially between 2018 and 2021, when their rivalry was often a subject of public discussion. At the time, Drake was also involved in a feud with Pusha T, which added another element to the artists’ feud.

But despite their differences, Drake and Ye eventually found their way back to each other. The duo famously made an appearance together at the Free Larry Hoover Benefit Concert, their first public moment together after years of rivalry. But the relationship has stayed mostly out of the spotlight since, with neither artist having spoken much about the other.

That shifted a bit on Tuesday when Drake liked an Instagram video of the street sign ceremony for Dr. Donda West Way. While a social media like may seem small, it carries more weight because of the history between the two artists.

The two artists used to collaborate frequently, with Drake appearing on music for West before their relationship turned into one of hip-hop’s more public feuds. They made up in the end, showing that the tension was resolved, though it’s unclear whether there will be another collaboration between them.

Drake’s participation in the Donda West Way ceremony is, for now, a relatively low key gesture. But it comes at a significant time for West as he marks his mother’s legacy in the city that influenced his early years.
