Fat Joe has finally responded to Papoose’s recent claim that he ghostwrote some of Remy Ma’s lines, offering a firsthand account of what he’s seen during his longtime relationship with the rapper.

Joe was keen to explain why he has stayed out of the increasingly public fight between the former couple. His relationship with their daughter, Reminisce, remains central to that decision, with Joe calling her his goddaughter and making it clear he does not want his relationship with either parent to become pulled.

But when the conversation turned directly to the songwriting accusations, Joe said he had never seen anybody write Remy’s rhymes himself. He also mentioned her recent creative output, saying she had completed ten songs in one week and was still heavily involved in her lines.

Papoose reignited the ghostwriting debate earlier this month with “Jezebel,” a track released during his ongoing divorce from Remy. As Complex previously reported, the track finds Papoose boasting that he secretly wrote some of his estranged wife’s raps while publicly praising her skills.

The charge is not entirely new. Remy had already fought back on “W.Y.F.L.,” denying rumors that Papoose ghostwrote her material months earlier.

Joe answered that question, but he didn’t pick a side in the larger battle over the ex couple. Instead, he kept saying he knew Reminisce and wanted to stay in his goddaughter’s life without adding more tension between her parents.

That also explains Joe’s decision to keep himself at arm’s length from the divorce itself. He even joked that he has more pictures of his goddaughter in his room than he does of his own children.

That moment recently came full circle when the fan got a meet-and-greet with Young Thug on Monday. Thugger Daily proved he hadn’t forgotten the one who managed to find her way to him during such a difficult time, when the rapper learned her name and knew it was her.

Young Thug’s connection grew from a simple message from a fan into something meaningful. It was difficult to contact loved ones back then, so this unexpected contact became a way for him to stay in touch with the people who mattered most to him.
