NLE Choppa embraces growth with a heartfelt apology to his son’s mother

HonkMagazine

In a time when many public figures avoid taking responsibility, rapper NLE Choppa is taking a more mature and sincere approach. The artist from Memphis recently shared a heartfelt apology to the mother of his son, Marissa Da’Nae, through his music and social media. On Valentine’s Day, he posted a personal message alongside a clip from his emotional song, “Crescent Moon,” giving his fans a glimpse into his journey of self-improvement. His apology was open and honest, showing how he has grown as a musician, man, and father.

Choppa addressed people’s misunderstandings about their relationship and admitted that he should have cleared things up sooner. He clarified that their son, Chozen, was not a mistake but was brought into the world by two loving parents. Choppa wanted to set the record straight and honor the mother of his child publicly. Choppa expressed, “Dear @mxrvssa, I’m sorry for letting misunderstandings happen, and for not defending you against the false narratives. You were embarrassed, so I owe you this apology publicly! We both know our son wasn’t an accident, and I should have spoken up sooner!”

It’s not every day that a successful artist like Choppa openly admits their mistakes and seeks to make things right. “Crescent Moon” is about taking responsibility and healing. The thoughtful tone of the song matches the vulnerability he showed in his post, making it clear that this effort is about setting a better example for co-parenting and emotional accountability. “Crescent Moon” is a powerful statement about personal growth, showing that true strength comes from owning up to your actions and striving to make things right.

Shweta Harve sings of love that stands strong like a Tree on “Have You Loved Like a Tree?”

have-you-loved-like-a-tree

Shweta Harve’s latest release, “Have You Loved Like a Tree?” gently prompts listeners to reflect on how we think about love today. She uses a tree as a metaphor to show that love is stable, patient, and unchanging, rather than short-lived or performative.

Harve takes listeners to a place where they can think about their own experiences and the emotional truths they share with others. At its most basic level, the song is about unconditional love, love that gives without expecting anything in return, protects without being seen, and is always there even when you don’t see it.

The lyrics say, “Just like a tree, I will never fold / I will only give, endure, and grow / I’ll hold you close, I’ll let you go,” which is the heart of the song. Harve paints love as something that endures through storms, distance, and silence, just as trees endure through changing seasons. That picture has a quiet power that stays with you long after the song is over.

Reetoxa sings about being alone but still creating something meaningfulwith new album “Soliloquy”

soliloquy

Reetoxa’s “Soliloquy” is a beautiful and very personal album with 26 songs. It came out after years of being by myself and thinking. The author spent a lot of time on this, but they finished it during the COVID pandemic. It lasts for 1 hour and 25 minutes. Jason is very creative because he can make art out of things that don’t make sense. There weren’t many ideas in 1997, but they grew into a whole set. The only thing that stayed the same was “Bottle.” He couldn’t keep to his usual recording schedule, so he started working on songs that weren’t finished yet. He drew on his own life and made something real and clear.

While writing “Soliloquy,” Jason pushed himself to the limit by only eating cigarettes and drinking coffee. The album feels heavy, like diary entries that were never meant to be read out loud. Each song is a direct and honest look at a moment, a fear, or a memory. The songs on the album are about being strong and quiet and being honest about how you feel. “You Deserve Better Than Me” makes you think, but “Insatiable” is more important. There was no need to rush, everything had been planned.

At first, “Soliloquy” was going to be a big six-album project, but in the end, it was just 26 songs with a point. Songs like “Akaroa,” “Dancing with Lou,” and “The Lisa Song” make you feel like you’re with someone and in a certain place. “Demand Perfection” and “War Killer” are sharper. There are natural differences between the light and dark, the chaos and calm, and other things on the album. These show how hard it is for Jason to get what he wants. We don’t want to fight these changes because they all work well together.

We’re following the lines of a life that never ends. “Soliloquy” by Reetoxa is a song about strength and creativity that never gives up. “Love Keeps Burning Still,” “Wake Up Lucy,” and “Alright,” the last song, are all songs that stick with you and show that something important can happen even when you’re alone. This release is both a letting go and a remembering. It’s a sign that thoughts that have been stuck in your head for a long time are finally coming out.
