Ja Morant Posts Cryptic Message To Instagram

Earlier this month, Ja Morant was indefinitely suspended from team activities by the Memphis Grizzlies. A video had emerged of him flashing a gun on Instagram Live while riding with his longtime friend Davonte Pack. Morant had served an eight-game suspension for a similar incident in March.

Morant did address the latest incident. However, the vague and generic apology did not go over well with fans. Despite apologizing, Morant is still waiting to hear what his punishment will be for this repeat offense. At the NBA Draft Lottery, Commissioner Adam Silver said he was “shocked” by the video and expressed his disappointment that Morant had seemingly failed to learn from the first incident. League sources have indicated that Morant’s punishment could be lengthy. It is unclear when the NBA will punish Morant.

Morant Posts Ambiguous Message To Instagram

Morant broke his post-apology silence with four posts on his Instagram story on May 24. The first was a picture of Morant on the court with his mother in the background and the message “Love you ma”. The second was a picture of Morant embracing his father with the message “Love you pops”. Morant’s young daughter was the subject of the third picture with the caption “You da greatest baby girl love ya”. Finally, the fourth image was of Morant with his head turned away from the camera with the caption “Bye.”

The images were quickly deleted but screenshots had already been taken and reshared on social media. Fans have already begun to speculate wildly, pointing at everything from a social media break to this being an indicator that Morant may attempt to take his own life. TMZ received no response from Morant’s representatives or local law enforcement about any news relating to Morant. Morant had previously vowed to stay off social media in the wake of his first gun-flashing incident, but ultimately returned only a few days later.
