  1. Can you tell us a story about what brought you to this specific career path?

Jamil Lorenzo: I was born in Boston, MA, and raised in Framingham, MA, and was very blessed to have two great parents that always had a love for business. So business is in my blood and I have a great passion for it.

I was introduced to Jae Nice who was already a successful music artist, and I was given the opportunity to manage him. We grew a great bother-hood/business relationship with each other. From then on I was able to learn about the music industry and meeting important people in the industry as well.

I also was able to build myself as an entrepreneur as well. With my business savviness and people skilled, I only became better at being a manager. I then was able to work with a distribution label named Bentley Records as an A&R, become a credit repair specialist and forex trader all in 3-5 years.

  1. Can you share the most interesting story that happened to you since you started this career?

Jamil Lorenzo: The most interesting thing that happened to me so far in my career, is hard to pinpoint a specific time because I’ve had a lot of great moments in my career. I would say the most interesting moment in my career would be when I first became a manager. I manage an artist named Jae Nice, and he is one of the most versatile artists from Massachusetts. He had already had a long resume with his career, so I was put into a great situation to learn and meet a lot of people in the music industry.

At that time, he had a track with French Montana who was just becoming into his own as a well-known artist. I was able to meet him a couple of times because of Jae Nice. The cool part was about it is that when you always around people, remember a face so it was awesome to be around him and being in the same room at an early stage of my managing career seeing how he makes hits in the studio.

  1. Can you share a story about the funniest mistake you made when you were first starting? Can you tell us what lesson you learned from that?

Jamil Lorenzo: The funniest mistake that I have made was that I booked a flight to the wrong state for a radio station Interview. The business was picking up at this time, and still being new to the industry I got overwhelmed with everything going on and trying to maintain my “regular life”. I didn’t realize until we landed in Florida, I realized what I have done! So, from that point on I realized in order to be a great manager or an entrepreneur.  I have to be organized! The biggest lesson I have learned in my entrepreneur journey.

  1. What are some of the most interesting or exciting projects you are working on now?

Jamil Lorenzo: Some of the most exciting projects I’m currently working on is that I’m able to have clients featured on the New York Times Square Billboard! I have some top clients that I will be working with on having their business, album, clothing line, podcast, models just to name a few. This gives the opportunity for entrepreneurs, music artists, and creatures the opportunity to market themselves on a new level!

It’s all about visuals now so having a way to market your brand on a billboard and posting it on social media is a great way to marketing. Time Square is one of the busiest areas in America so being able to have that as an option for my clients is great!

The value that Renzo Management already brings for my clients, having an option for clients brings more value. I’m also launching my website for Renzo Management very soon as well! The site will entail the clients I work with and a break of what I have to offer for entrepreneurs, music artists, small businesses, clothing brands, etc. My site will also explain why it is important to have to consult and to plan their marketing and branding.

I’m able to help music artists get natural/organic streaming from all major music platforms, set them up for interviews on popular platforms, YouTube natural organic streaming just to name a few. I’m also able to come up with a 3-6-month plan for music artists, entrepreneurs, podcasts, clothing brands, etc. so they are well organized for their next release.

  1. Who are some of the most interesting people you have interacted with? What was that like? Do you have any stories?

Jamil Lorenzo: I’ve had the opportunity to meet Chris Brown twice and both times was a great experience. He is a very down-to-earth person and he didn’t allow fame to change him. I personally feel that is rare in the industry nowadays. The last experience I had was getting to see him again backstage at his last Chris Brown tour. Just seeing his growth as an artist. The Indigo Tour was an awesome experience to being able to watch from the backstage and the preparation before a show. It was another great opportunity to being able to experience something that not too many people have.

  1. Which tips would you recommend to your colleagues in your industry to help them to thrive and not “burn out”?

Jamil Lorenzo: The advice I would give colleagues in the industry to help them to thrive and not “burn out” is that Rome was not built overnight so don’t expect to see results in a week, month, or even a year! The best part about reaching your goals is the journey! So, soak in all the knowledge and study the game.

Finding a mentor that is successful and knows what they are doing and mix it in with your own style! Make sure you are organized, always finding ways to grow, and giving up is never an option!

  1. You have been blessed with success in a career path that can be challenging. Do you have any words of advice for others who may want to embark on this career path, but seem daunted by the prospect of failure?

Jamil Lorenzo: If you are afraid of failure then you are in the wrong business. Failure comes with success if you have the right mindset. If you never go through failure you won’t know how to handle it when you have failed even when you are successful! Don’t be afraid of failure it’s one of the best lessons.

  1. Can you share with our readers any self-care routines, practices, or treatments that you do to help your body, mind, or heart to thrive? Kindly share a story or an example for each.

Jamil Lorenzo: Don’t drain your body, and smarter not harder. I personally like to go to the spa at least once a week to have that hour or so to relax my mind and get a massage. It helps me relieve any stress that I may have. Try not to be all about work 24/7, even for me personally it is hard not to be thinking or doing work every day. Try to find time to relax, enjoy time with your friends, family and have time to yourself to clear your mind. Playing basketball has been my life since I was 3 years old. When I play basketball, that is my time to not worry about anything. It’s my time of peace.

  1. What are your “5 things I wish someone told me when I first started” and why? Please share a story or example for each.

Jamil Lorenzo: The two and only things I wished someone told me before I started my career path is that it’s going to take time to build yourself as a brand and as a business. The reason why is because when you first start, you may think you are going to see success quickly. It doesn’t work that way.

When I first started, I thought because I was already managing a successful artist, I thought the success would come fast. You still must earn, build, and gain respect in any business you are new to. You must be willing to be coachable, and willing to put the hours into prefect your craft so you can be talked about a must the best.

  1. Can you please give us your favorite “Life Lesson Quote”? Can you share how that was relevant to you in your life?

Jamil Lorenzo: My favorite life lesson quote is “Business never stops, the hunger to win must outside the shine that thirst to shine.” I value this because the grind never stops! Even when you think you have the day of business always seems to find you depending on how you carry yourself.

The way you market and brand yourself, you never know who knows you, or who you will bump into. Always be prepared for business and always look the part. Recently I was at a Red Sox Game enjoying my time with my friends and I had a new business deal to handle. I was prepared because I had my iPad with me because you just never know when you need to close a deal.

  1. None of us are able to achieve success without some help along the way. Is there a particular person who you are grateful towards who helped get you to where you are? Can you share a story about that?

Jamil Lorenzo: First and foremost if it wasn’t for my parents I wouldn’t be here today. The knowledge that they taught me on how to be as a person and into the man I’m today played a HUGE part in my success today.

The reason I’m in the music industry is because of my business partner Jae Nice. He was willing to put me under his wing to gain the knowledge and into becoming the manager I’m today. This also gave me the will to become an all-around businessman.

Jae and I were introduced to each other through a mutual friend, and from there we grew a close friendship which led to being business partners. We then formed GTETNS (Green Thumb Entertainment Team No Sleep) which became a movement and a lifestyle. From appearing at club events with top artists in the industry to travel, in the studio making great music and music videos we were able to market the brand to new heights! From then on, we’ve been able to build collectively and separately.

  1. You are a person of enormous influence. If you could start a movement that would bring the most amounts of good to the most amounts of people, what would that be? You never know what your idea can trigger. 🙂

Jamil Lorenzo: If I could start a movement it would be to teach kids at a young age how important having good credit and how you can become a self-made businessperson. I feel these two things are NEEDED in the educational system because not everyone has people or parents that can teach them these things. There’re so many things that they teach in a school that we don’t even use in the future so I feel having financial literacy and learning entrepreneur skills is a must in the school systems today.

  1. We are very blessed that some of the biggest names in Business, VC funding, Sports, and Entertainment read this column. Is there a person in the world, or in the US with whom you would love to have a private breakfast or lunch, and why? He or she might see this. 🙂

Jamil Lorenzo: The one person I would like to meet is Sean P. Diddy Combs. The reason why I would like to have a sit down with him is that he is one of the great businessmen of my generation. Not only did he play a HUGE part in the music industry, but he also didn’t stay one-dimensional he became a versatile businessman. I idolize his work ethic and how my personal famous quote “I’m a savage, whatever I want I’m going to get!”  That is how I live my life! If I want something, I will do whatever it takes to get it.

Adrie ft. Rulo evokes the groove-soaked rhythmic vibe with her debut single “Bring Back the Light”

Adrie

Adrie’s thought-provoking vibe, “Bring Back the Light,” establishes a sonically vivid kaleidoscope that encapsulates vitality and skillfully merges energetic Afrobeat rhythms and funk-oriented guitar melodies with the soulful combination of English and Spanish lyrics. The debut single from her upcoming concept album bursts forth as a significant representation of artistic innovation. The audacious collaboration with Chilean artist Rulo, recognized for his proficiency in Latin funk and hip-hop roots, infuses the track with a layer of vibrant authenticity.

The song’s heartbeat is firmly rooted in Afrobeat, establishing a dynamic rhythm that engages listeners from the outset. The funk guitar elements interlace throughout the composition, contributing a timeless energy. Additionally, the bilingual lyrics transition seamlessly between English and Spanish, reflecting Adrie’s diverse cultural heritage. This linguistic interplay underscores the overarching theme of the track: the complex relationship between light and darkness on both societal and personal levels.

Drawing inspiration from the surreal narrative of the television series ‘Twin Peaks,’ Adrie and Rulo explore the equilibrium between fear and hope. The lyrics are imbued with emotional depth, articulating Adrie’s battle with anxiety and her desire to foster positivity. Nevertheless, the overall composition rises above the melancholy theme, characterized by an uplifting rhythm and celebratory tone, encouraging listeners to engage intellectually, contemplate profoundly, and participate physically through dance.

Bring Back the Light” aims to illuminate these pressing issues and inspire proactive engagement. It is a poignant reminder that even amidst personal or societal challenges, there’s a rhythm in life to celebrate and a spark waiting to be ignited. This represents Adrie at her most creative, and with Rulo’s distinctive flair, the outcome is a dance-floor anthem characterized by both heartfelt and meaningful. Listeners are invited to increase the volume and allow the music to uplift and brighten their spirits.
