Hi Nandis, thanks for taking out time to respond to us. Can you tell us a story about what brought you to this specific career path?.
Nandis Wrld – Music Has Always been around in my life but I never took it seriously as I do now. When I was younger I used to battle rap and freestyle all the time for fun but that was it. I also recorded a few songs here and there but didn’t do anything else besides that. When I was younger I used to party and street race all the time and didn’t care about anything else besides that. I wasn’t really doing anything with my life. one day I got into a bad car accident in which my car was totaled and my friend had to go to the hospital. I was broke and only had about 300$ in my bank account and I had to figure out what I wanted to do with my life. My mother suggested I go to the military but it didn’t feel right. As I’m in my room trying to figure out what I should do with my life I see my old rap book dusty that hasn’t been touched in who knows how long. I go to my rap book and open it up from the first page and I see all the rhymes that were written and as I continue to flip page by page falling in love with what I used to do. By the time I got to the end of the notebook, I knew that the music path was for me and I’ve never looked back.
Can you share the most interesting story that happened to you since you started this career?
Nandis Wrld – I would definitely say the most interesting story is when I first started doing music, I started going to shows In New York and !llmind was throwing a party where he invited a bunch of big producers to play their music on stage. One of the Producers was ArabMuzik. I wanted to get on stage and see him play the MPC but no one was allowed to unless you knew one of the bigger people there. So what I did was when security wasn’t looking I went through a side door and snuck on stage and there I was watching !llmind playing his beats then Arabmuzik came out and I took a photo with him and I was able to witness him play the MPC live and it was the most incredible thing I have ever seen!
Can you share a story about the funniest mistake you made when you were first starting? Can you tell us what lesson you learned from that?
Nandis Wrld – To be honest, I don’t have any funny mistakes I can think of, everything has been a learning process for me. Throughout the year’s people have always taught me their ways of creating and I learned from them and turned it into my own way of creativity for music.
What are some of the most interesting or exciting projects you are working on now?
Nandis Wrld – Currently, I’m working on my 2nd album which has different styles of drill such as RNB Drill and Uk Drill. I’m currently setting up a tour for the year 2022 to go out in London and perform out there in the summertime. I will also be collaborating with other drill artists as well from out there.
Who are some of the most interesting people you have interacted with? What was that like? Do you have any stories?
Nandis Wrld – I’ve met many many many tons of interesting People its very hard to narrow it down to who is the most interesting. But what I must say is that every time I interact with these certain people I’m always learning something new from them whether it is music, business, advice, or anything about life. I cherish these conversations because they can be applied to what I’m currently going through now or later in the future.
Which tips would you recommend to your colleagues in your industry to help them to thrive and not “burn out”?
Nandis Wrld – I would say if you don’t want to “Burn Out” Make sure whatever you’re doing is for the right reason. I do music because I love to do it. I can’t see my life without it, I love creating something new all the time. Now if I was to do music just for the money I would have been “burnt out” because there is no love behind it and you just don’t make money with music overnight. do something because you love to do it, that’s it.
You have been blessed with success in a career path that can be challenging. Do you have any words of advice for others who may want to embark on this career path, but seem daunted by the prospect of failure?
Nandis Wrld – I would say no matter what obstacles you go through in life to keep ongoing. I personally don’t consider anything as a failure instead I look at it as a life lesson. Each failure teaches us something new about ourselves and how we can better improve for future situations that may occur. There is no such thing as failure!
Can you share with our readers any self-care routines, practices, or treatments that you do to help your body, mind, or heart to thrive? Kindly share a story or an example for each.
Nandis Wrld – When I’m not creating music, I’m usually listening to audiobooks about business. I love business in general and how to find different ways of making money especially in stocks, property, etc. I like to listen to meditations to help clear my mind. I also watch a lot of interviews about artists making it into the music industry and stuff they go through on a regular basis.
What are your “5 things I wish someone told me when I first started” and why? Please share a story or example for each
Nandis Wrld – I wish someone would’ve told me to watch interviews about artists, that would’ve definitely helped me navigate a Lil bit better in the music world for sure. Another thing is to be active on social media a lot, that definitely would have helped me with building a fan base. I wish I got into books at a younger age about business. The knowledge you gain from reading does help you out a lot and makes sure you know what you’re talking about. To be honest, besides these 3 I can’t really think of anything else.
Can you please give us your favorite “Life Lesson Quote”? Can you share how that was relevant to you in your life?
Nandis Wrld – “Move with a purpose” I got that from the artist Russ. I feel like everything you do you should be doing it to push yourself ahead with your goals. don’t be wasting time and money on stupid things. Use your time and money for the right things!
None of us are able to achieve success without some help along the way. Is there a particular person who you are grateful towards who helped get you to where you are? Can you share a story about that?
Nandis Wrld – Besides the support and help I get from my friends, and Family I would definitely have to Say my Friend RDM. He’s been there since day 1 with my music career since I decided to take this seriously. He’s helped me in many ways to help me get where I am at now and I also helped him in many ways too. When I need help with a decision in my music career he is the first one I call for advice. Right now I’m partnered with him at his Studio, Vault 531 studios where we are constantly creating and pushing ourselves ahead to get where we want to be!
You are a person of enormous influence. If you could start a movement that would bring the most amount of good to the most amount of people, what would that be? You never know what your idea can trigger. 🙂
Nandis Wrld – A movement I would definitely start for sure is to help those in need, if you know you’re good and don’t need to worry about anything why not give a hand to help someone to be in the same position you are in? Let’s all give a hand to help people out when they need it the most. There are millions of people who are out there who can change someone’s life if they help someone out.
We are very blessed that some of the biggest names in Business, VC funding, Sports, and Entertainment read this column. Is there a person in the world, or in the US with whom you would love to have a private breakfast or lunch, and why? He or she might see this. 🙂
Nandis Wrld – I would definitely like to sit down with Russ, he is an artist who has his own independent label. He moves in a certain way that a lot of artists can not. I don’t want to be signed to a major label where they tell me what I can and can not do. labels They own our masters and we owe them millions of dollars. I don’t want that. I want to run everything with me and my team where we have no restrictions and make all the money ourselves and don’t owe anyone anything.
