Ice Spice Fires Back, “Latto’s Feud is Just a Dragged-Out Joke”

Ice Spice

In a candid interview with Rolling Stone ahead of her highly anticipated debut album Y2K, Ice Spice opened up about her rapid rise in the rap industry, her budding friendship with Taylor Swift, and her ongoing feud with Latto. Despite both artists’ flourishing careers, the tension between them remains a hot topic among fans.

The drama reportedly started when Ice Spice’s single “Think U The Sh*t” was rumored to take shots at Latto. Ice Spice confirmed the speculation, calling out a “weak-ass snippet” Latto shared on TikTok, which featured footage from an Ice Spice music video. Latto’s response? Filming her next music video in Ice Spice’s hometown, The Bronx. The back-and-forth has continued ever since, with each artist throwing subtle digs at the other.

“I can understand a friendly competition, but I feel like at this point it’s a joke that she’s just dragged out, and it’s not even funny,” Ice Spice told Rolling Stone, directly addressing the feud. Meanwhile, Latto has downplayed the conflict, asserting they operate in different lanes and expressing no interest in furthering the drama.

Despite their differences, both rappers are enjoying significant success. Latto’s feature on Jung Kook’s track “Seven” recently went platinum and topped the Billboard Hot 100. Ice Spice has had major hits with Nicki Minaj, including “Princess Diana” and “Barbie World,” and her viral collaboration “Boy’s A Liar, Pt. 2” with PinkPantheress. She also came close to a #1 single with Taylor Swift on the “Karma” remix.

With her debut album Y2K dropping on July 26, all eyes are on Ice Spice to see what she does next in both her career and this ongoing saga with Latto.

“Empatia” by Aurien & Jab Vix set the tone for an atmospheric new era

Aurien

“Empatia, the stunning electronic debut of Aurien, in collaboration with Jab Vix, is the start of a new creative universe under Aurien’s newly launched imprint Château Bonheur Musique. The track feels like a doorway into a curated emotional space, built from atmosphere, storytelling, and immersive sound design.

“Empatia” is founded upon a contemporary electronic aesthetics that favors texture. The production is sleek and considered, offering up soft rhythmic pulses within roomy layers that breathe. Working with Jab Vix gives texture and dynamics to Aurien’s perspective and sets the sound for the song. It’s more about feeling the music than looking for peaks of high energy. It builds slowly and invites you to sit in the mood.

A highlight is the “Elegant Mix,” which takes the original and gives it a more subdued, slicker makeover. It allows the heart of the composition to come through more intimately, and this duality reinforces the idea behind Château Bonheur Musique as environment, experience, and feeling. “Empatia” is a debut statement and manifesto for the immersive, emotionally intelligent electronic music that works as effortlessly as it does in shared spaces. It’s a thoughtful direction for Aurien, where sound is not just heard, but lived in.
