Kendrick Lamar Co-Signs Rising Star La Reezy At BET Awards
In a move that’s sending ripples through the New Orleans rap scene, Kendrick Lamar has cosigned upcoming MC La Reezy. This surprise cosign goes down in what seems to be a short and sweet moment, locking eyes at the 2025 BET Awards, and fans are all for every moment of it. La Reezy, who has been gaining momentum based on Southern roots and lyrical prowess, shared the now-viral moment via Instagram. Standing next to K.Dot himself, the gunslinging young rapper captioned the photo with profound gratitude, “Shoutout God fa aligning this, shoutout the Goat Kendrick, my biggest inspo.
But it was Kendrick’s message to La Reezy that truly had the internet on fire, “ay boy i be seeing yo stuff, you hard, you representing new orleans good, keep it up. The exchange struck a deep chord with fans because of the mutual respect they exhibited in public and what it represents. In a culture that at times tilts toward competition over collaboration, moments like these take us back to hip-hop’s humble beginnings when established greats uplift the future of the culture.

This heartwarming tale about the little guys just so happens to have dropped in the wake of Kendrick’s widely publicized beefing with Drake, where the Compton rapper turned loose his most vicious side. But here, with La Reezy, we find a different K.Dot one based on mentorship, positive reinforcement, and community-building. It’s a manifesto that, while the rap game might be built on competition, there is space for real appreciation and support. For La Reezy, the timing of such an endorsement couldn’t be better.
Though Kendrick has been known to shine a light on other Los Angeles artists, last year’s GNX collabs come to mind. His willingness to stretch beyond those regional lines speaks volumes to La Reezy’s promise and appeal. Now representing New Orleans for all the world to see, La Reezy begins life at a new level as one of the most influential voices in rap backs him up. Fans are eagerly watching what the rising star does next. With Kendrick Lamar’s cosign in her back pocket, La Reezy’s next moves just got a whole lot more compelling and interesting.

Snoop Dogg Wants To Pay Someone $10,000 A Month To Eat Ice Cream
Snoop Dogg has had a lot of job titles over the years, but “official ice cream taster” wasn’t one of them until now — and he’s hiring someone else to fill it. His company Dr. Bombay just opened applications for the role, and it pays $10,000 a month.
The gig is fully remote and open to anyone on the planet, which Snoop announced himself in a video that’s exactly as laid-back as you’d expect. “I love the paper, but not the paperwork,” he said, explaining that HR firm Deel is handling the logistics while he handles, presumably, the ice cream.
The actual job is less “sit around and eat pints all day” and more part-time cultural scout. Whoever gets it will track flavor and food trends around the world, report back on what people are eating and talking about, and work directly with Dr. Bombay’s in-house flavor lead to help shape what the brand does next. It’s a three-month contractor role, and Snoop’s team says they’re actively looking outside the usual resume pile — creators and non-traditional applicants welcome.
Dr. Bombay itself leans nostalgic, with flavors like Long Beach Fruit Cart, Sticky Caramel Apple Pie, and Peanut Butter Jelly Time already sitting on shelves at Walmart and moving through DoorDash and Instacart. Somewhere out there is one very lucky applicant about to get paid five figures a month to have opinions about ice cream, and honestly, good for them.
