RJMrLA Says He Had No Clue Kendrick Lamar Was Behind “Squabble Up” Video Until It Dropped

H

In an unexpected twist straight out of a hip-hop, Los Angeles rapper RJMrLA recently revealed he had no idea he was starring in a Kendrick Lamar music video until the world saw it. The revelation came during a live stream that’s been making the rounds on social media, where RJ opened up about his role in the music video for “Squabble Up,” a track from Kendrick’s GNX project. According to RJ, he was approached with the opportunity to appear in a visual, but the catch? No one would tell him who it was for. “They didn’t give me no name, no title. I was just told it was something major,” RJ said, with a shrug that practically said, “Welcome to Hollywood.”

When the video finally dropped on November 25, 2024, and Kendrick Lamar’s name flashed across the screen, RJ was just as surprised as the fans. “I found out when y’all found out,” he shared, adding to the mystique of a rollout that seemed designed to keep even its own stars guessing. Fans were just as puzzled. After The Neighborhood Talk posted a clip from the livestream on Instagram, the comments lit up with confusion and curiosity. “How could he not know?” one user questioned. But others offered clarity, noting that many involved in the shoot were kept in the dark. Kendrick wasn’t even present during filming, and scenes were stitched together in post-production, a move that speaks volumes about Lamar’s artistic secrecy and layered storytelling.

Despite the mystery, RJ doesn’t seem bitter. If anything, it’s all part of the ride. He previously shared the stage with Kendrick during last year’s The Pop Out: Ken & Friends concert, performing “Get Rich” to a packed crowd in Inglewood, and this new cameo adds another layer to their quietly growing artistic connection. As the buzz around “Squabble Up” continues, RJMrLA is shifting the spotlight to his own project. His new album, OMMIO 4, is set to release on June 20, with already-dropped singles “Baby” and “Ramen” laying the foundation for what’s expected to be a gritty, homegrown return to form.

Snoop Dogg Wants To Pay Someone $10,000 A Month To Eat Ice Cream

Snoop Dogg has had a lot of job titles over the years, but “official ice cream taster” wasn’t one of them until now — and he’s hiring someone else to fill it. His company Dr. Bombay just opened applications for the role, and it pays $10,000 a month.

The gig is fully remote and open to anyone on the planet, which Snoop announced himself in a video that’s exactly as laid-back as you’d expect. “I love the paper, but not the paperwork,” he said, explaining that HR firm Deel is handling the logistics while he handles, presumably, the ice cream.

The actual job is less “sit around and eat pints all day” and more part-time cultural scout. Whoever gets it will track flavor and food trends around the world, report back on what people are eating and talking about, and work directly with Dr. Bombay’s in-house flavor lead to help shape what the brand does next. It’s a three-month contractor role, and Snoop’s team says they’re actively looking outside the usual resume pile — creators and non-traditional applicants welcome.

Dr. Bombay itself leans nostalgic, with flavors like Long Beach Fruit Cart, Sticky Caramel Apple Pie, and Peanut Butter Jelly Time already sitting on shelves at Walmart and moving through DoorDash and Instacart. Somewhere out there is one very lucky applicant about to get paid five figures a month to have opinions about ice cream, and honestly, good for them.
