Sébastien Tibackx captures raw energy and fire in “Mr Groove”
Sébastien Tibackx’s new single “Mr Groove” is an all-out homage to fist-pumping funk at its most electric. The track was recorded wholly in the moment, capturing the unrestrained energy that crackles between a group of musicians interacting in real-time, driving through to a live listening experience that feels raw and exciting.
“Mr Groove” establishes itself as a contemporary nod to classic funk, incorporating tight horn lines, catchy rhythms, and soulful backing vocals that make it impossible not to move your body. The musicianship is excellent with Pascal Drapeau’s trumpet and Sylvain Tejerizo’s saxophones (both from The Commitments) layering in bright punches. At the same time, Tuxedo Big Band’s Sébastien Arruti provides depth and color with his horn arrangements. Philippe Fauvel, who has worked with N’oubliez pas les Paroles, keeps the track moving with tight, driving percussion that maintains the groove throughout.
Adding a divine touch, Kirk Franklin’s choir singers add resonating backup vocals that elevate the song toward an almost celestial plane, linking the old-school funk vibes to modern musical mystique. It’s the combination of raw live energy and slickness of performance that really makes “Mr Groove” sound like a living, breathing party in sound. For funk-lovers, live lovers, or music-lovers listening for good vibes and pure sound alone, Sébastien Tibackx’s “Mr Groove“ is a force of expression, and this single firmly sets a new era in Tibackx’s music and proves that funk, when it is done right, cannot go out of fashion.

“Empatia” by Aurien & Jab Vix set the tone for an atmospheric new era
“Empatia,“ the stunning electronic debut of Aurien, in collaboration with Jab Vix, is the start of a new creative universe under Aurien’s newly launched imprint Château Bonheur Musique. The track feels like a doorway into a curated emotional space, built from atmosphere, storytelling, and immersive sound design.
“Empatia” is founded upon a contemporary electronic aesthetics that favors texture. The production is sleek and considered, offering up soft rhythmic pulses within roomy layers that breathe. Working with Jab Vix gives texture and dynamics to Aurien’s perspective and sets the sound for the song. It’s more about feeling the music than looking for peaks of high energy. It builds slowly and invites you to sit in the mood.
A highlight is the “Elegant Mix,” which takes the original and gives it a more subdued, slicker makeover. It allows the heart of the composition to come through more intimately, and this duality reinforces the idea behind Château Bonheur Musique as environment, experience, and feeling. “Empatia” is a debut statement and manifesto for the immersive, emotionally intelligent electronic music that works as effortlessly as it does in shared spaces. It’s a thoughtful direction for Aurien, where sound is not just heard, but lived in.
