As Trump leaves office, so does the indifference to the COVID-19 pandemic faced by the entire nation and President Biden makes a vow to change the government’s response on his first day as POTUS.

As a part of the first wave of executive actions by Biden, all federal employees will be required to wear masks and make face coverings mandatory on federal property. Additionally and probably most importantly, the President will establish a new White House office to coordinate the coronavirus response and immediately stop the withdrawal of the United States from the World Health Organization, a process initially facilitated by former President Donald Trump.

Biden’s Secretary of State nominee Antony Blinken confirmed that the United States would be joining the COVAX alliance, a union of more than 190 countries spearheaded by the WHO that will ensure that poor countries receive fair access to the COVID-19 vaccine.

Many critics believe that Trump’s lack of proper response to the virus has resulted in over 400K deaths as he left office, the worst health calamity the country has faced in over 100 years.

After President Biden took his oath of office, he offered a moment of silence for those who have lost their lives to the coronavirus.

“We’re entering what may be the toughest and deadliest period of the virus and must set aside politics and finally face this pandemic as one nation,” Biden said.

Charleston White Spark Heated Reactions Over Lil Durk Florida Arrest

Lil Durk

When news broke about Lil Durk’s arrest in Florida, it quickly spread across social media. The Chicago rapper now faces serious charges that could lead to life in prison or even the death penalty. He is accused of being involved in a murder-for-hire scheme aimed at Quando Rondo, which some believe is revenge for King Von’s death. This arrest follows the capture of five members connected to his crew, Only The Family (OTF), facing similar charges. This situation has caught the attention of both fans and critics, including Charleston White, a controversial internet personality.

White is known for his blunt opinions and didn’t hold back when commenting on Durk’s legal troubles. He expressed no sympathy for Durk and discussed the matter on social media with a gleeful tone. His comments stirred a potent mix of reactions, with some people agreeing with him while others felt he was being unfair.

Charleston White often speaks out against hip-hop artists who he believes promote negative behavior and violence. He sees Durk’s arrest as part of a bigger issue about how street culture is portrayed in rap music today. White is not just focused on Durk’s actions; he wants to highlight the importance of accountability in the hip-hop community, emphasizing that there are consequences to living by what he calls “the street code.”

Some listeners support White’s views, arguing that rappers like Durk often glamorize violent lifestyles but then face severe real-life consequences. On the other hand, Durk’s fans criticized White for his lack of empathy, accusing him of using Durk’s serious situation to gain attention online. They feel that he is mocking someone who is facing life-changing challenges.

This division in opinions reflects a larger debate within the hip-hop community: whether the genre should celebrate success and growth or remain connected to themes of struggle and redemption. As Lil Durk navigates his legal battles, it’s clear that this situation resonates beyond just his personal life. The discussions sparked by Charleston White’s comments will likely continue to influence conversations about hip-hop, responsibility, and how the public perceives these artists.

Tiffany Haddish’s African Grocery Store Visit Sparks Debate, Is She a Trailblazer or Out of Touch?

Tiffany Haddish

Tiffany Haddish is at the center of controversy after a video of her visit to a grocery store in Zimbabwe went viral. In the clip, Haddish marvels at the store’s size and the availability of items like sugar cane and organic strawberries, which she seemed to find surprising.

The reaction from viewers has been mixed. Some applauded her for challenging stereotypes about Africa, while others mocked her for acting as if the continent lacked modern amenities. One user on X quipped, “Tiffany Haddish, the first woman to discover a grocery store in Africa,” while another expressed confusion over her reaction, questioning why she seemed surprised by the store’s offerings.

In response to the backlash, Haddish took to X to clarify her intentions. She emphasized that her goal was to “demystify” Africa and encourage more Black Americans to visit.

This incident follows another controversial trip earlier this year, when Haddish visited Israel amid ongoing conflicts, a move that drew criticism for its insensitivity. Despite the recent backlash, Haddish remains active, with her latest project being the memoir I Curse You With Joy, which has garnered positive reviews for its candidness.
