RedRumKass is an independent artist from Trenton New Jersey United States. with a Crazy sound and an outstanding following, his music speaks for itself as he is on the rise as one of the better upcoming artists out of the Garden State, he talks about his past trauma, overcoming depression, dropping out of college and still being able to help take care of the people around him. He owns his own Record Label and has other artists like Millah Mack, Blaq Jolie, Blanco, TrapGodTG, and Mucho Balmain who are also steering up the Central Jersey Streets. Get into RedRumKass

Hey RedRumKass, Thanks for coming to Honk Magazine to talk about your music career. Can you tell us a story about what brought you to this specific career path?

Depression brought Me to making music, I was in college battling a lot and I couldn’t talk to anybody so I started writing and recording myself in my dorm room.

 

Can you share the most interesting story that happened to you since you started this career?

The most interesting thing that happened since I choose this music path is being recognized by big celebrities in the music industry like Bow Wow, Gucci Mane, Jadakiss, and more

 

Can you share a story about the funniest mistake you made when you were first starting? Can you tell us what lesson you learned from that?

The funniest mistake I made while taking this music path was thinking people who I know have to work with me because we know each other, I’ve now learned that music is a business and should be treated as such no matter the personal relationships I have with other Artists.

 

What are some of the most interesting or exciting projects you are working on now?

I’m Currently working on FrontStreet General 2 witch is a 2nd series of my first tape FrontStreet general.

Who are some of the most interesting people you have interacted with? What was that like? Do you have any stories?

One of the most interesting people I’ve interacted with is Shy Glizzy, a DC artist who is very big in the industry. I bumped into him at a DC club and we were both in VIP chillin, he was very down to earth so that was very cool because most of these artists are to Hollywood to interact with anyone.

 

Which tips would you recommend to your colleagues in your industry to help them to thrive and not “burn out”?

Tips I would recommend to other artists is to Take it one day at a time, it’s a marathon, not a sprint, you can be hot today and nobody cares about your music tomorrow & nobody can care about your Music today but you can be hot tomorrow. It’s all about how you look at things & always think outside the box when making decisions. Long as you have consistency and drive you will get far just keep the vision.

 

You have been blessed with success in a career path that can be challenging. Do you have any words of advice for others who may want to embark on this career path, but seem daunted by the prospect of failure? 

If you wanna take this path take it, forget the doubters if this is what you really what to do then do it, stay focused on the vision and you can obtain the world. The sky is the limit but reaches for the stars too.

Can you share with our readers any self-care routines, practices, or treatments that you do to help your body, mind, or heart to thrive? Kindly share a story or an example for each.

Things I do to help myself thrive are just staying focused, I pray a lot, I go to the gym to keep my mind of negative things, I spend a lot of time with my dogs as well.

 

What are your “5 things I wish someone told me when I first started” and why? Please share a story or example for each.

5 things I wish someone told me when I first started were.

Nothing is free you have to spend money to make money, don’t take anything personal everything is business. Timing is everything know when to make a move. Always be working because the next artist is always working. And see everything for what it is and not what you want it to be.

 

Can you please give us your favorite  “Life Lesson Quote”? Can you share how that was relevant to you in your life? 

One of my favorite life quotes is “Fart thought it was a Fart and then it shit itself” it’s a funny way of saying “don’t think” don’t be hesitant to do what you want to do, never think about it just do it because when fart THOUGHT it was a fart it ended up shitting itself instead of farting lol.

 

None of us are able to achieve success without some help along the way. Is there a particular person who you are grateful towards who helped get you to where you are? Can you share a story about that?

I’m very grateful for my big brother Spaceship, he’s thought me a lot and steered me away from a lot of trouble just by knowing life and what it’s like to be outside.

You are a person of enormous influence. If you could start a movement that would bring the most amount of good to the most amount of people, what would that be? You never know what your idea can trigger. 🙂

My Movement would be “Outside on FrontStreet” everybody is outside but not everybody is outside for the right reason, I’m outside to help the people around me, give back to the community, steer people from wrong, and help with financial stability. And I’m doing all this while on “FrontStreet” which is my definition of the black Wall Street in New York City.

I would love to have a conversation with Jay Z and Beyoncé, I rode a private helicopter of their Beverly Hills mansion which is the biggest in Hollywood and worth 300 million, I would like to ask what all they did to get to where they are and ask for some advice because I want to be where I’m they are in life.
