LILPURPLEZOMBIE IS KNOWN FOR HIS AMAZING GROWTH IN THE FIELD OF MUSIC…

Tell us a little more about when you first got into music?

I’ve loved music ever since I can remember. I grew up in a very musically versatile household with my Dad listening to Hard Rock, Heavy Metal & Blues, my Mom listening to Pop & Classic Rock & my older brother listening to a lot of Rap & Hip-Hop. I decided to start rapping in late 2018 after recording a few songs for fun that my friends seemed to enjoy, but I really started taking it seriously in late 2019/early 2020 after sharing the stage with some bigger artists such as Riff Raff, Ying Yang Twins, Xavier Wulf, Eddy Baker & more.

If you could describe your sound/style in one word, what would it be and why?

Unique. I feel like I don’t actually sound like anyone in particular other than Lil Purple Zombie. I’ve been compared to $uicideboy$, Travis Scott, Lil Uzi Vert, Kodak Black, Ugly God, Lil Dicky, Ghostmane & a lot more lol. I don’t think I actually sound like any of them though personally.

What would you say to any aspiring recording artists who look up to your work?

As cliche as it sounds, never give up. You’re your own worst enemy, so don’t talk yourself out of taking that next step that could be life-changing just because it might seem scary. The bigger the risk the bigger the reward!

MatrixLand pulls you in with a strong beat that feels like it’s pulling you out of reality. The words “Had a little bite, like the way it made me feel, nothing on this earth ever made me feel so real” are at the heart of the song. It’s about finding something so substantial that it takes you to another place, like a time machine taking you back to the day you were born. Jàlâl creates a clear picture with unreal and deeply grounding music, letting you move between memories and the present.

The music is smooth, with electronic sounds that remind you of how time and space can bend, while his singing feels warm and out-of-this-world, guiding you through the song’s meaning. MatrixLand feels like a celebration of life and thinking about our big moments.
