YG Takes Rolling Loud LA by Storm with Hilarious Trump Takedown

HonkMagazine

YG is known for not holding back, and his recent performance at Rolling Loud Los Angeles was a perfect example of that. The rapper from Compton energized the crowd with an exciting show that had everyone on their feet. But it wasn’t just his music that got people talking, it was the surprise guest he brought on stage that made an impact. In a moment full of West Coast flair, YG invited a Donald Trump impersonator to join him right before he performed his famous protest song, “FDT.” The lookalike confidently walked across the stage, imitating Trump’s gestures in a funny and exaggerated way.

The audience erupted in laughter as the impersonator played along with the song, which has been a symbol of protest since 2016. Bringing back “FDT” now, when Trump is back in the spotlight, made the song’s message feel as relevant as it was years ago. YG turned a serious political statement into a fun and memorable performance, proving that music can be both impactful and entertaining. This show was also a personal celebration for YG, who has had a positive start to 2025. Just a few weeks earlier, he was cleared of DUI charges from an October arrest, as authorities decided there wasn’t enough evidence against him.

With that legal worry behind him, YG was ready to hit the stage, filled with energy and excitement. Fans at Rolling Loud received the full YG experience. He was bold, direct, and connected with his audience. From his popular songs to his charm, YG showed why he is vital in the rap world. And with that Trump impersonator joining him, he reminded everyone that humor can enhance a serious message. As 2025 unfolds, YG is clearly feeling confident and ready to tackle whatever comes his way.

Paul Terry, Aptøsrs & Cellarscape unite on bold new album “Alternative Piano Club”

Combining his three artistic alter egos, Paul Terry presents an awe-inspiring new 12-track album, “Alternative Piano Club,” written in collaboration with Aptøsrs and Cellarscape. This is an album-length voyage of music that blends acoustic, rock, and piano-driven cinematic sounds.

Torn between this complex emotional spectrum, all the while the piano remains at its core throughout. Paul Terry opens his “Memento Mori (Chromogenic Phase)” contemplatively, creating a solemn, reflective mood. Cellarscape’s “Three Years Of Roses is warmer, whereas Aptøsrs’ “Questionnaires is much more textured as a large, sculptural post-rock.

“Dave’s Theme,” written by Paul Terry, musically expands the narrative with a touch of cinematic elevation that aligns well. “We Shape The Clouds” by Cellarscape is fluffy and heart-warming, “Writers Behind The Curtain” is somber, more narrative. We are all together in “A Place We Made,” an honest, intimate, emotionally grounded space.

The project contains vocal warmth and cultural depth in the song “This Is My Home by Silas Miami & Lana Crowster. Proceeding in a totally different direction is the stronger emotional clarity of Paul Terry’s acoustic storytelling on “Any Time You Want To Fly” and “No Sleep Has Come.” Cellarscape presents a wide, spacious atmospheric moment in “Cygnus,” while Aptøsrs ends with “Rust Mountain (Monochrome Piano Version),” a simple gem that brings the project full circle.

The mixing of Sam Okell and Adam Noble, the mastering of Alex Wharton and Robin Schmidt have, in many ways, brought their polish to it while still making it feel human. “Alternative Piano Club” is a work entity, where three musical personalities met and talk mind in the same emotional language.
