Cooper Chasse’s “You & Me” is a Joyful Ode to Nostalgia and Growth.
In his latest folk-rock single, “You & Me,” Canadian artist Cooper Chasse rekindles the embers of memories past while unveiling a vibrant departure from his signature introspection, painting a vivid picture of a newfound musical evolution. Breaking a nearly two-year hiatus, Chasse’s musical revival is the perfect prelude to his forthcoming album “This Ever Changing Ocean,” slated for release on September 1st, 2023.
Crafted in London, England, and brought to life in Bowmanville, Chasse’s hometown, “You & Me” transcends mere melody, marking a pivotal juncture in the artist’s life journey. Known for his contemplative lyricism, Chasse’s new track radiates exuberance as it encapsulates the bittersweet process of reminiscing about the past. With a fusion of classic rock roots and modern vivacity, Chasse’s signature dulcet tones are entwined with carefully woven verses accompanied by cascading strings and meticulous instrumentals.
Initially conceived as a meditation on the desire to recapture a former romance’s enchantment, “You & Me” expanded into a sweeping ode to nostalgia’s broader essence. Chasse reflects on his two-year stint in London, capturing the essence of friendships, experiences, and fleeting moments. The song harmoniously encapsulates the theme of embracing life’s twists and turns, acknowledging that everything finds its rightful place, even if it means bidding adieu to the cherished, a poignant reminder of the places one can’t remain due to circumstances beyond control.
Cooper Chasse’s latest offering isn’t just a song; it’s a musical time capsule that encapsulates growth and the undulating rhythms of life, which flows like a melodic river of recollections. Beyond its lyrical journey, “You & Me” also showcases Chasse’s versatility as a multifaceted artist. Not only does he draw from his background in amateur film composition, he also helms the entire creative process from writing and recording to production and mastering.
In a harmonious blend of folk influences with rock sensibilities, “You & Me” signals Chasse’s return and heralds a transformation that resonates musically and emotionally. With its joyful rhythms and heartfelt introspection, the single becomes an anthem for acknowledging the past’s resonance while embracing the evolution that beckons. Cooper Chasse’s “You & Me” is a jubilant testament to the symphony of growth and the melody of memories.

Loris Tils brings funk energy to life with “IKKI”
Loris Tils comes out swinging with “IKKI,” a single that comes with energy and musicianship right from the opening note. Borne on the unmistakable thump of Minneapolis Funk, the song surges forward with a groove that feels impressively designed and still wildly alive.
“IKKI” is a naughty conversation between slap bass and guitar, and the two instruments impressively craft around each other with both precision and flair, building a high-octane rhythm section that feels as tight as it is explosive.
The magic of “IKKI” is this tension, relentless discipline balanced by acrobats of daring improvisation. The energy never overwhelms the groove. Instead, it expands on it, making this song a celebration of rhythm, creativity, and instrumental chemistry.

Glass Mansions turn a possible goodbye into “SUNSETTING”
Glass Mansions return with “SUNSETTING,” a new single that came together during some uncertain times for the project. What began as a mini farewell to music turned out to be among the band’s most authentic and openhearted efforts yet.
The back story of the song’s creation feels almost cinematic. The day the decision was made to quit music altogether, a message came through from some big-time music executive who had heard about the band’s first Ep and wanted to collaborate. The band had agreed to share unreleased demos on request, though they hadn’t prepared any. That urgency caused a combustion of creativity that would shape the song’s trajectory.
“SUNSETTING” was written, tracked, and recorded in a home studio with scratch vocals in roughly two hours. What could have been a thrown-together demo became a surprise breakthrough. Confronted with the prospect of delivering just one last song, the writing became rather reflective, what would you say if it were your final creative curtain call.
“SUNSETTING,” produced by Zack Odom and Kenneth Mount alongside Orb Studios’ Taylor Webb, captures the urgency of its origin story but colors it with a new reflective emotional depth. The upshot is a song that feels at once improvisational and profound, an affirmation that, sometimes, when we think we’re reaching the end of something, it’s actually only setting in motion the most powerful of new starts.
