Why all of a sudden does Dua Lipa look so fantastically dark and mysterious? In an Instagram she posted today, she looks like she is keeping secrets of the underworld, tucked into those goth-Tron boots that skirted past her knee and boasted a hulking platform. She complemented the extreme footwear with leather shorts and an off the shoulder top. Who created this deliciously slick and spooky look? Lipa’s caption might help, which read as: “slickkkk rickkkk.” Ah yes, who else could design this other than Rick Owens aka the “Lord of Darkness.” In fact, the ensemble is fresh from the runway: look 3 from Spring 2021.
Judging by similar boots by Owens, who has long had a penchant for out-of-control footwear, the heel height is around 4.5 inches while the platform is a healthy 2.7 inches. Not a bad way to make an impact, visual and otherwise. Lipa loves funky boots, too. Around this time last year, we saw her in a Jurassic Park-themed boot by the label GCDS. This version, though is a bit more adult, sleek, and serious.
